Mandali Hotel

Paid for sea view, as given room 418 which had a pool and sea view. Stayed B&B so can't comment on evening meal. The good: close to beach (but you have to be at beach before 9am to secure a sunbed), aircon very good but a tad noisy, bed - large & firm but comfortable- slept very well, mini fridge (but needs to be set a little cooler), kettle with tea & coffee, safe cost E1.5 per day, all areas very clean, staff friendly, spacious car park for safe keeping of rental car, The not so good: Sunbeds are back breakers- very sloppy mesh not supportive at all. Pool is east facing so very shady early on in the day- no good for sunbathers but ok for me. Pool a little small but I was aware of this at time of booking so not complaining. The bad: only one thing to complain about- the lack of fresh uncut bread at breakfast- it was only served every 2-3 days otherwise its packet square bread - really not good enough. Breakfast was otherwise repetitive but acceptable. Protaras resort- great boardwalk along the beach and plenty of toilets & changing facilities all along it. The strip was 'entertaining' if you like that kind of thing. Local bus excellent value and runs until 4am!- Travels from Paralimni to Ayia Napa- E1.50 per journey or E5 to travel all day as hop on & off. Rent a car and get out to see beautiful Cyprus especially Troodos mountains (its so easy all signs in English & you drive on the left); I live in Norfolk and found the hairpin mountain roads of the Troodos were an absolute delight. Definitely coming back to Cyprus, but not to Protaras, its just not for me, but we found Mandali is a good cost-effective hotel.

We went to Protaras in early October, weather was great, the hotel was great, it was well maintained and really clean, it's about 150 yards to the beach and about 300 yards to the main strip, the staff were very friendly, cleaner came in everyday, pool area is really clean and well looked after, would definitely return.

A lovely hotel, location is perfect near the beach and close to the bars but very quiet. Great view of the sea and boats. Only downside was not having a room to change in before our evening flight. We had to change in the corridor by the Spa. Very disappointed 😞

Definitely the best hotel in Protaras. Perfect location, fantastic staff and so chilled. Been coming here for several years, including 3 times this year. We have stayed at several other hotels here but Mandali is the best. It is also reasonably priced compared to some of the others. I give the Mandali 5 stars and if anyone finds better please let me know.

A good basic hotel for a base. Ideally situated for the beach, restaurants & shops. Clean with helpful staff. A criticism would be the sun beds. Sagging so much, like trying to get off a hammock. Need replacing. Surprised this wasn't done when hotel was refurbished. Although a ‘no frills’ would consider staying again as the positives outweigh the negatives.

Went for 11 nights ,loved this hotel nice breakfast every day had room 208 with nice sea view ,had lovely walk in shower was tea and coffee in room which was replaced daily .The pool was just right for me as it's not too deep it Is in the shade in the afternoon but that didn't bother me ,would recommend this hotel to anyone on a bed and breakfast basis 2 mins to the beach and about 3 or 4 to the strip where all the bars and restaurants are. Also the staff are very friendly.
