Hotel Golden Key Prague Castle

I had such a lovely stay here. The bedroom and bathroom had everything you could need and were very clean. The room was quiet with great views over the rooftops of Prague. The building itself is historic and done up very nicely. Breakfast was good. Staff were super-friendly and helpful.

I had a really lovely time in this hotel—it's very charming, clean and good value. The bedding is super soft and the pillows are particularly luxurious. Great location and atmosphere. My only nitpicky issues were the fact that the duvets are two twin-sized ones instead of one double duvet (I think this is a European thing?), so you have to sort of layer them on top of each other to mimic a full-sized duvet. Also, there is no non-slip mat in the shower/bath combo—I slipped on the tub (it didn't drain well, so it had a couple inches of water) while getting out of the shower and fell on the bathroom floor. I got a few bad bruises, so if you have concerns about safety hazards, that might be something to consider (I may just be clumsy, though!). The breakfast was a bit lackluster, but that's definitely not a dealbreaker. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would stay here again!

The hotel staff was so friendly. It was a great location for seeing the sights in Prague! Took a bolt taxi from the train station, but then walked to all of the tourist sites from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful building, welcoming and very helpful staff. Breakfast choices were lovely and plentiful every day. Location spot-on, central to all places of interest. Felt at home very quickly..always a good sign. Would definitely stay again!

One of the most beautiful, most welcoming hotels we've ever stayed at. Everything about it was perfect: the location of the hotel, the room (so stunning and quiet!), the breakfast... I couldn't fault it. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy. A truly fantastic place.

We had a junior suite which was very decently accommodated (room 13). Plenty of space and a very good sized bathroom/wc as well. Service and check in were pretty faultless and the hotel is also very well positioned for most of the major attractions in Prague. Only issues were that we found the lighting in the bedroom to be a bit on the dim side. The only other area which I think could be improved is the breakfast. While there's a really good choice of cold food stuffs and good coffee/tea making facilities, the hot food in the steamer was somewhat lacking - rather poor quality, anemic looking frankfurter sausages - and the supply of hot food would sometimes run out. On our first morning we arrived just after 9.30 and there was almost no bacon left and the beans were finished. We asked for the latter to be replenished, although got the impression this wouldn't have happened automatically given that breakfast service ended at 10.00am. Also, the heater wasn't particularly efficient at keeping food warm. Given the cost of rooms at the hotel I would have expected eggs that eggs would have been available to order from the kitchen. All told, a very good experience overall, with some potential for improvement. I'm unsure as to whether we would stay at the Golden Key again, although we found the staff to be friendly whenever we met them.

Very nice hotel really well located near the Prague Castle. Staff are very kind and friendly. The breakfast buffet is very good in variety and quality. The room are quite big and everything you can need is available. The area is safety and you can move without any problem in the evening. Very good choice!!

The hotel was in a brilliant location - on one of the quieter streets but one with real history. The rooms are just great and the breakfast was really good. Thoroughly recommend. We will definitely stay there again

Stayed 6.8.-12.8.2023 Liked the hotel, room and location. The receptionist checking us in was super nice and helpful to everyone. Housekeeping ladies also very nice. Room was pleasant, quiet but overall maximum of 3 stars. But!! Avoid going for breakfast 7:30-8:00 as it will be still empty and they will put old and stale pastry there. They bring everything after 8ish. We needed breakfast 7:30 every day so we were very disappointed when old and rubbery buns and croissants were there from previous day (if not older) and when we ate what we did not really want and were finished by ate, everything else and fresh appeared. Also please check the date on your condiments as they are past the date to eat too. Management could invest in bigger bfast heaters as they were empty after 2-3 people took eggs or sausage. Upon check out I was charged for some crisps I did not have, they probably meant the small bowl of peanuts which was there - open, not in packaging AND available at breakfast for free. Get them at breakfast and do not touch the ones in your room if you do not want to be overcharged for nothing. Mixed feelings.
