I checked in at 6PM and the front desk gave me room 519. When I went to the room, it still had not been cleaned since last guest, including bed linens not made up, with drink cans sitting around. OK, so I'm thinking its a simple mistake by the receptionist, I understand. As I'm walking away from room 519, a guy (who ended up being the manager) walked up in the hall and asked me what was going on, so I told him the room situation. He said ok and walked away without introducing himself, so that was awkward. Then I go back to front desk and lady asks me if I can wait on it to be cleaned. Well it is 6pm and I have a cart full of luggage sitting in lobby, so that's a huge negative. Conveniently, the manager walks up while I'm still talking with receptionist, hands me a key card from his pocket, and tells me to go to room 419, which I ended up staying in. I'm not 100% sure, but I have a feeling he went himself and sort of faked cleaning a room, so I wouldn't be upset. This was only a single night stay, so I didn't get too upset, but that room was not properly cleaned, but bed sheets were pulled tight. I feel it was just a quick move by the manager because the bed was made, but i removed Dorito crumbs from under the cover on the bed closest to AC Unit, which is nasty. Also, The lady at the front desk told me there were no other rooms clean as the manager walked up, but he wanted me gone to this unit so I couldn't hear him talking to her about the situation. Lets also not forget there were no bath towels, hand towels, or wash rags in unit 419. I had to ask for those as well in this "clean unit" the manger sent us to. The next morning I planned to make a quick cup of coffee in the room, but the coffee maker had an old packet of used coffee still in it. That is unacceptable. On the way out the door, we decide to get some food. Breakfast was served until 9:30am. It was the most pitiful continental breakfast I've ever seen in my entire life. I recommend not offering it. With so many issues at this particular hotel, the issue is obviously management. Even short staffed a good leader will have the jobs done right (clean rooms, make sure there are a few options available for breakfast) even if it has to be completed by himself/herself.
