Cul-Erg House & Kitchen

I stayed for one night with family and I would strongly recommend a visit. The beds were very comfortable, rooms spotless clean and the breakfast was amazing. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent to Portstewart.

Just home from a one night stay in Cul-Erg. What a lovely bed & breakfast. Very clean and fabulous food, the coffee shop is fantastic. Great shower and comfy beds. JJ, Marie and their son could not have been anymore accommodating. We will definitely return.

Loved this place! Great communication before and during. Super location for easily walking into town, or driving around. Breakfast was fabulous (included) and they also offer lunch. They picked up our laundry for us at the nearby place recommended. Parking was complimentary in front or in back. We stayed for 3 nights and are hoping to return again next year. So nice and helpful and accommodating. Good sleep as well!

Fantastic B&B right on the promenade of Portstewart. Amazing hosts JJ and Marie that made us feel at home. Very clean and comfortable room with nice beds and clean clean shower. Delicious breakfast to order with wonderful fry and coffee. JJ was super helpful with local tips and arranged a taxi for us. When I left my eyeglasses in a the taxi, he connected with the taxi and the glasses were waiting for me in the cleaned room. What amazing low-key service that you hope for. I would definitely stay here again to visit Giant's Causeway and golf in the area. Thanks again.

This was our second stay at Cul Erg and I can't say enough good things about JJ and Marie! They are the best hosts! JJ insists on taking everyone to their rooms and is always available to help. The breakfast is amazing, the beds and pillows are the best. This last time I really used the bed, as I was sick from traveling. My group went ahead to the local sites and I stayed back to rest. They couldn't have been kinder. I missed breakfast but Marie insisted I have something, so JJ and Marie got me set up with tea and toast. Well it positively invigorated me, I will stay there every time I bring a group to Northern Ireland and I recommend you do so as well! Cheers, Rebecca

Perfection. This establishment has it all: wonderful accommodation, terrific breakfast with from scratch preparation with local ingredients, great location within walking distance of the sights, and, above all, two hosts that seamlessly make your stay perfect. Book!

I have just completed a stay at the wonderful Cur-Erg house in Portstewart, arriving for a two night stay in April 2024. We had two double rooms and it really was a superb experience in a number of ways. The hotel is located less than a minute’s walk from the sea front and as you approach the hotel you quickly realise what a well kept establishment this is. The owners welcomed us to show us to our rooms which were very well appointed indeed. The hotel is extremely clean and in the bathrooms, every conceivable extra has been included, with some very nice products available. The double bed was very comfortable and the room had every facility required for a very enjoyable stay. The breakfast was a particular highlight. Everything is cooked to order and a large number of different breads were available, including fresh Irish soda bread. All the breads were either home made or sourced fresh from local bakeries and the quality of the breakfast was outstanding. The owners were really helpful in advising us how to get the most from our time in the area and are very knowledgeable about the local history. Their recommendations of local restaurants to visit were excellent. The owners work extremely hard to maintain the hotel to the highest standard possible and are very welcoming indeed. I hadn't planned to return to Portstewart but I'm now planning to make a further trip, simply to be able to stay at The Cul-Erg again.

Cul-Erg House prides itself in its Irish hospitality and customer service which are second to none, serving up delicious homemade food demonstrating simplicity & quality.
