Check-in was pleasant but the clerk spoke my room number aloud - which is a major error and I would have had an issue with it, but I was the only guest in the lobby. I asked for and was given a late checkout due to changing circumstances with my next day's travel. I went to get ice, but the machine on the 4th floor wasn't working. An employee was nearby so I asked if she knew it was broken (no) and she offered to bring me some. I said that wasn't necessary, so we took the elevator down to the 3rd floor. She held the elevator for me, but that ice machine was also out of order. The 2nd floor ice machine worked. Either other guests haven't reported this, they aren't a priority to be fixed or the service technician is overbooked. I like the room layout and full kitchen with drip coffeemaker. After breakfast the next day, I double-checked with the front desk that my late checkout was noted and was told that yes, they were aware, but the housekeepers had not been told, so he texted to alert the supervisor. Hmm, so just half the task was completed and I luckily avoided the irritation of housekeeping pounding on my door at 11am. I didn't think it was appropriate that three employees were discussing former employees and work topics in the breakfast area for guests to hear.
