Checked in and went to room, smelled like smoke, dirty rags, poop in toilet, and dirty sheets. Went to front desk told them and put us in another room. The other room, the walls were falling apart, mold on bathroom ceiling, broken bed. Pool was closed, elevator broken, other family member had to stay in another room because elevator was broken and couldn’t climb stairs. No breakfast, just a packet of hot cereal and cold cereal. Ice machine not working, and while there, they painted two sets of stairs, and since elevator was broken, had issues getting to room. Hotel is falling apart and not sanitary. The only good thing was the staff is excellent! Do a major fix on hotel and keep the great staff.

I don't think I ever had such a bad experience at a Marriott hotel. Front desk told me they couldn't find my reservation and even when I showed them the confirmation I got from Expedia they couldn't care less. I called Expedia and their customer service tried to get in touch with the hotel staff. I could hear the phone ringing but the front desk lady would just walk away when it rang. I told her that's Expedia calling to clarify my reservation but she was flat out rude and said that's not the hotel's problem. I asked for a manager, she told me the manager will be there at 6am tomorrow so I can come back then. All of this, while I was at the hotel, late at night, with a hungry and tire toddler. She didn't care and you could tell she hates her job. Half an hour later, the ”absent” manager turned out was actually around. I approached him and, while he was a little more (not much) polite than the front desk lady, he wouldn't want to help and kept on blaming Expedia (he, as well, refused to take call from Expedia escalation manager who was trying to help locating the reservation). It was obvious they have an issue with Expedia, however, they were punishing the customer for that. Eventually Expedia made another reservation with me on the phone and they couldn't claim there is no reservation. The whole check-in experience took 2 hours. Check-out wasn't any more pleasant but there wasn't much there with the exception of the $4.95 fee which they insisted on charging for premium internet, although I tried to explain that, for a Platinum member, premium internet is free.

I only spent 1 night here, and I was kinda prepping for a typical sort of crappy motel. Is it a luxury hotel? No, no one is gonna confuse it for that. But the room was comfortable, the wifi worked, the shower was fine, AC worked well and maybe most importantly for an airport hotel, the price was reasonable and there was a shuttle available. I really couldn't have asked for anything more in an airport hotel, frankly every major city should have this as an option and sadly that's just not the case, far too often you're in over $100 for the same room or worse. Of note, I clicked ”yes” an outdoor pool is available, but in reality their pool is totally out of commission. Didn't bother me, and in the upcoming months it won't matter, but if you wanted to take a dip, you can't.

The outside of this hotel makes it look quite clean and accommodating however, looks are deceiving. I was booked a room for 2 nights, (not cheap) and was assigned a room at the back of the hotel. The room was not as clean as it should be. The lamp in the corner was broken, there is a distinct lack of accessible plugs for laptops and cell phone. The carpet looked like it needed a good shampoo and the chair by the bed definitely needed an upholstery clean. The bathroom was far from clean with a dirty tissue dispenser, a portable mirror on the vanity was absolutely filthy underneath and the tile calking on the floor was brown with heavy staines. Even the room number on the telephone did not match the actual room number. The room safe was unable to be opened as the previous guest had locked it and left it with their own combination. Don't waste your hard earned money on this place. I decided to only stay the one night.

I had a poor experience at the Sheraton in Novi while staying with a family member to celebrate a belated Christmas as we weren't able to get together around Christmas proper. While I was upgraded to a room on the club lounge floor, the guest room I received was not clean by any definition of clean. There was hair on the desk and desk chair, hair on the toilet, hair under the toilet seat, hair on the wrapped bar of soap and soap dish, stains on the desk, and stains on the face tissue container. The single bathrobe hanging in the closet appeared to have been previously worn and didn't have a cincture. On my reservation I specifically requested only 100% feather pillows. My reservation also requested a bathrobe, slippers, extra pillows and extra towels. I didn't receive any of those things. The four pillows were four polyester down-alternative pillows. Those pillows are horrible. They always feel like someone stuffed cotton balls in a pillowcase. During check-in I noticed a sign at the front desk saying daily housekeeping is not provided, unless specially requested. The major cleanliness issues that I experienced are a direct result of what happens when hotels don't clean rooms and other spaces each and every day. I received zero Marriott Bonvoy elite status recognition. Specifically, I was not offered the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. I complained to the general manager, who to his credit acknowledged the lack of cleanliness was unacceptable, fully apologized and took responsibility. To resolve the issue, he offered to comp my stay and ensure that the room was thoroughly cleaned while we were out of the room and off-property at a nearby shopping mall. He also apologized for the lack of Bonvoy recognition and provided the $100 cash compensation that is required by Marriott for not offering guest with platinum or higher Bonvoy status the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. When we returned, the room was properly cleaned. The pillows were replaced with feather pillows, although none of the feather pillows had pillow protectors or pillowcase liners. Two clean bathrobes and two pairs of slippers were placed in the closet. The general manager was also kind enough to leave a bottle of wine in the room. My family member was really appreciative of that gesture. Despite the issues, the staff that I encountered throughout the stay were polite, welcoming and hospitable. That aside, there was zero excuse for the cleanliness issues or the lack of attention to what was specified on the reservation The club lounge was open with an average evening offering that included a selection of assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes, fruit and some basic canapés. Besides free nonalcoholic drinks, an honor bar featured cheap house wine ($5 retail bottles of wine) selling for $5 a glass. The club lounge is a nice smaller space. Love this place! Location is a little difficult for a lot of people(such as uber/lyft drivers) to navigate to, unfortunately. In turn, every other aspect of this business is outstandingly and refreshingly magnificent! I truly enjoy my time at this above and beyond location. Not just are the rooms amazingly well put together, you'll find the breakfast is actually good(and even hot!) and the staff are incredibly helpful, kind and welcoming. They even know how to properly do their jobs(which seems to be a rare quality to posses these days)!! I highly recommend this place to all!!

We needed to find a Hyatt the was located near the airport, Ford Museum, and the River Walk and this place was the place we were looking for. Each place was located within 20 minutes of each other to keep our car time to a minimum. The front desk girls were kind, happy, and helpful - always with a smile on their faces. The hotel has an indoor pool, exercise room, and a great free breakfast that was not your typical cold foods and juices. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, fruit, and the list goes on. If we come back to Lavonia, we will be staying here.

We had booked this hotel for the weekend and came across some disappointments making us not want to stay at a Hilton again. When we arrived at 8:30pm we were told the pool was closed and is only open 8-8 (found out the next day you have to reserve a pool time). Even though we found nothing on their website about this. They asked if we wanted to schedule room service upon checking in and we said yes but the next day we never got room service. We had stripped the bed noticing the sheets and bed protector were stained. I notified the front desk and they said they didn't have us down for room service. He was accommodating and eventually offered us a new room. Which we appreciated. The beds and pillows were not as expected. However, The customer service at the desk and dining area were great!
