Hotel Bakira is located at the boulevard of Piriápolis. The hotel is modest, reasonably maintained, non-smoking and has a lift. From the balcony there is traffic noise from the rambla. Staffs are friendly. We came on a Saturday in November and the towns was busy. Young Uruguayans paraded their pushed-up second-hand cars, loaded with a loud ghetto blaster, by driving back & forth over the boulevard of Piriápolis. The noise lasted till early morning. During the week in off-season Piriápolis appears to be quiet. Our room was basic, outdated furnished and with an OK doublebed. The room had a TV on the wall, tea & coffen, toilet, bidet and shower. All was clean. The balcony has a side view of the beach and the rambla. There is a small restaurant, a bar, a lounge & terrace at the top-floor, a simple fitness room and a stuffy indoor pool. Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet and an average continental breakfast served in an outdated ball room at the top-floor. Following Covid-19 regulations the breakfast is in three shifts and has to be reserved. If you like a modest, yet well equipped, hotel and you can stand the rambla traffic noise on Saturday nights, Bakira is the place for you. Otherwise go elsewhere.
