Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

Best place we stayed in during our trip in China!! The courtyard is magnificent and our room was clean and comfortable. The hosts were great. Always willing to help us in any way possible to make our stay in Pingyao even better. I would highly recommend if you're coming to Pingyao!

This is a gorgeous hotel that is centrally-located inside the ancient city with great service. It’s like living in a museum! The hotel is housed in a thoughtfully renovated ancient college with a beautiful courtyard for chatting, eating, and chilling. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet. I really enjoyed the traditional mat style bed. The hotel is a short walk away from the bustling Main Street. It was very convenient to walk to most attractions inside the walled City. The hotel owner also arranged free transport to take me to the high speed rail station. The service was wonderful. No complaints! If you’re staying here, I recommend checking out not just the ancient walled city but also the ancient temples in the area. I would stay here again without hesitation.

If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic. It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city. With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time. I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

I have never really reviewed it, but I really recommend it with five stars for this hotel experience🤩 I always thought the hotel price was a bit high, but after the experience, I was sure it was worth the money👍The hotel is located in the center of the ancient city, which is very convenient for visiting the ancient city and watching ”See Pingyao Again”. The most important thing is that the hotel environment is great, and you can take pictures everywhere (¯▽¯)👍The room is clean, the yard is safe and quiet, and the children can go out to play with peace of mind. The sound insulation is good, and you don't have to worry about noise when you get up late. 😂 There are snacks and breakfast when you stay in the hotel, and there are gifts when you leave the hotel🎁, which is really heartwarming❤️

The inn was renovated from the 300-year-old former residence of Hou Wangbin. The current owner has a strong awareness of protecting historical buildings. The entire inn has been restored to its original state, preserving its appearance 300 years ago as much as possible. All staff members are very polite and have a strong sense of pride and belief in Pingyao and historical buildings. We were fortunate to stay here for one night and to have an intersection with the buildings that were 100 years old. I hope that the inns in Pingyao can learn more from the practices here, and on the basis of protecting historical ancient buildings, more people can witness the value of Pingyao.

On the 11th, my family and I followed Wukong to travel to Shanxi. We stayed at Qi Mansion in Pingyao Ancient City. It was a very satisfying experience for us on this trip. I knew the location was very good from the reviews and maps before staying. After checking in, I found that it was better than expected. It was very convenient for eating and playing. Although the yard was in a busy area, it was very quiet, beautiful, clean and tidy. The big kang was very comfortable to sleep on. The proprietress enthusiastically explained to us the delicious and fun things in the ancient city. We all went to experience it, and the taste was great! I also learned a lot of local customs from the proprietress. After returning, my family praised the small flower rolls for breakfast!

This is a beautiful hotel in the juice of the old town of Pingyao, located not far from one of the gates of the old town and about 15 minutes walk from the center and the main streets. The room had a lot of charm, with the traditional bed which, to my surprise, was comfortable even with the rigidity. I could not enjoy the patio because of the mosquitoes but it is really very charming! The young woman at the reception and the Ayi (the aunt who takes care of breakfast and cleaning) are people with a heart of gold who will do everything to enhance your stay. You have the choice of Western or Chinese breakfast, personally I enjoyed the Chinese breakfast which is typical of the region. I recommend this hotel 100%!

The first time I came to Shanxi, the first contact was the hotel staff, too kind, the service was super good. We have not set off yet, the hotel has already begun to arrange our time, tell us which parking lot to park, and the battery car pick-up brother sent us to the hotel. The hotel is in the center of the scenic spot, and it is very convenient to go to any scenic spot. We arrived late and have not eaten yet. The hotel recommended several better restaurants in the scenic spot. We chose Hongwuji. There are coupons at the hotel, which is 30 yuan cheaper. The next day is breakfast included. We took the children to eat very full. It is worth coming. This trip is very fortunate to choose such a good hotel. Next time, it is definitely the first choice 👍👍.
