Great hotel with an amazing view. My room was the best place to watch sunset. The stuff is very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast had so many options . I would definitely come back and recommend this hotel.

This was the most disgusting and dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The sheets were not changed. The bed cover was soiled. The floor had crumbs the plastic shower stall had soap scum all over it. There was hair on the toilet when I got there. The showerhead kept falling off the bar And the water didn’t go down. I had to fight to close the door of the shower because the floor was getting soaked. The towels were dirty, dingy, and crunchy. This is the absolute worst place ever stayed. I sat on the dresser because the bed was disgusting. They said they gave me a sea view room the only thing I did see was the pool . Save your money and go to another hotel in Sorrento. It was way too far to walk to the train, and the streets were deserted. I was emotionally getting depressed, staying at hotel. I literally had to book another hotel in Sorrento and take the loss because I booked for four days. Both the hotel and jet line vacations awful in trying to resolve any problem of this disgusting hotel.

We looked at reviews after booking this hotel and were nervous we had made a massive mistake. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely Italian lady at the desk who also decided to change our rooms so we would be over looking the pool instead of the street just because they had the rooms available, the rooms were lovely and clean lots of large towels, extra pillows in the wardrobe so we had two each instead of just one, Wi-Fi in reception which also worked in our rooms, the pool was open and was lovely and refreshing, a little dangerous for children as there is about a foot drop from the pool edge to the water level, the pool floor was also slippery and a massive steep drop to the deep end which was very deep so just be sure to have floating aids, we didn’t get to have dinner but we did have breakfast which was lovely and there was lots of options to choose from, all the staff were lovely, kind and couldn’t do enough for us, the morning we left we had to be ready before breakfast started but they let us have coffee’s and the chef even brought us a plate of pastries whilst we waited for our transport, I probably wouldn’t stay here for a two week holiday but if your traveling through the area or staying for a few days like we were then it is perfect, i honestly do wish we could of stayed more than a few days. I don’t know if maybe they have just made huge improvements after negative reviews but we couldn’t believe it was the same hotel in the reviews, it was a lovely place :)

I am a student who went on a school trip to Italy and stayed in this hotel, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The rooms were kept tidy but very dated and there was leaks which caused mould which is a serious health concern. The hotel food was very disappointing after a 12 hour journey to the hotel we were hoping for some nice food and comfortable rooms and we got neither. The food looked like something you would a dog with salty lettuce and meat that we didn’t even know what it was, we didn’t get any choice in what we ate and the only drink was water which came in 3 jugs which looked unclean and very old. Looking at past review images the hotel has not changed in the past 10 years, which the staff were assured that the hotel had been updated by the travel company. On the first day we were hoping to use the pool but we were told that it was hired out by a private party, and we managed 40 mins on the second day, on the third day the we were told we couldn’t use the pool due to dangerous chemicals in the water but we returned from the day to see children using the pool. (Our teacher Robin G left a review which has images attached)

This hotel is the worst one I have ever stayed in. They didn't let us go in the pool while making excuses it was being cleaned (we saw other guests in it). The food was disgusting. We found a nail on the floor of our room alongside a TV which didn't work. There was a poo stain in every toilet and the pool had hairs inside it. The floors were very dusty( my socks were once white, now black and brown). The very angry hotel cleaner shouting down the corridor every 5 seconds and not doing any cleaning. Someone got stuck in the bathroom for an hour and a half while waiting for someone to come. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything in every room. The cleaner must have got a bit angry due to the punch hole in my door. Other than that a great experience staying at the hotel (never returning in my life). :)

The worst hotel i have stayed in and the angry italian lady is not very welcoming. I ask the bed to be un duck taped and they didn't do it after 3 asks. It took them 9 hours to clean the pool and the food was just weird. My door had a big punch hole in it and there were nails in my room and poo stains in the toilet.

Our recent experience at Hotel Albatross in Sorrento left our school group utterly disappointed and frustrated. The negative aspects of this establishment overshadow any potential positives, making it impossible for me to recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Poor Food and Thick Omelette Sandwiches: The dining experience at Hotel Albatross was nothing short of abysmal. The food quality was appalling, with some tasteless dishes lacking any creativity or freshness. The packed lunches of a sandwich and a bottle of water consisted of so-called "omelette sandwiches" which were nothing but greasy, overcooked messes that could be used as doorstops. We were hopeful of indulging in some authentic Italian cuisine, but instead, we were met with a sorry excuse for a dining experience. No Access to the Pool: One of the main attractions that led us to choose this hotel was the promise of a pool. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the pool was under booked by a private partyy and unavailable for use. We were able tonuse the pool for 40 minutes on our second day but the next day we were told that there were major issues with the chemicals and we couldn't use it. We then saw what we believed to be local children in the pool. This misleading information was a significant letdown, especially during the sweltering Sorrento heat. Outwardly Polite but Brusque Staff: While the hotel staff seemed courteous on the surface, their interactions were marred by an evident lack of genuine warmth and hospitality. They appeared disinterested in addressing our concerns and were quick to dismiss any issues we raised, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disregarded. As others have suggested, there was a distinctly anti-British feel. Clean but Very Old Rooms: While I appreciated the efforts made to keep the rooms tidy, there was no escaping the fact that they were outdated and in dire need of renovation. The worn-out furniture and shabby decor made for an uncomfortable and dreary ambiance, undermining any sense of relaxation we sought during our stay. No Access to Meeting Rooms: We were hoping to utilise meeting rooms for some important student gatherings, but to our dismay, the hotel denied us access to any such amenities. The substantial rooms on the basement level were closed and we were not allowed to use them. There was only the foyer and the restaurant open during our stay. The absence of suitable spaces for business or educational purposes further highlighted the hotel's lack of consideration for its guests' needs. Lack of Amenities: Hotel Albatross falls woefully short in terms of amenities. The absence of a functioning pool was already a significant blow, but it didn't stop there. There were limited entertainment options, few facilities, and the overall ambiance felt aged, dull and uninspired. Leaks in Bathroom Roofs: The maintenance issues in this hotel were undeniable. The bathroom in one room had substantial leaks in the

Grand Hotel Europa is in my opinion a perfectly fine hotel for families as long as you are not expecting a five-star experience. Having read the reviews we were not quite sure, but it’s perfectly fine. Hotels are clearly expensive around here as we booked three or four months out and four nights cost us around €750. The hotel was built in the 1980s and to be fair not a lot of improvements have been done since then but every single member of staff was awesome. The swimming pool is incredible and is an asset to the hotel, although it’s a shame it isn’t open in the evenings, as it closes at 7. The rooms are what you might call quaint, but the beds themselves are quite basic, and mattresses harder than what we would normally expect, but were comfy. There is a small fridge in the room and very basic amenities. Breakfast was OK but you wouldn’t want to do it every day for long – the coffee machine was good though. We didn’t realize that Sorrento is itself on a cliff so the area is hilly and windy, looking at various maps. It appeared flat and an easy walk in to Sorrento. One thing that would’ve been handy to know is that when you coming by train the best station to get is Piano de Sorento, as it is a mere 700 m downhill stroll directly to the hotel. As it was, we went to the end of the line to Sorrento Central, and then shared a taxi with another couple and were both charged €35 each for a 4 km journey. There is clearly good money in taxi driving in this area. He made €70 for 10 minutes work. 😬 You also want to use that train to get to Sorrento Central -you definitely don’t want to be taking taxis. PS: The Italian train and bus timetables are an even greater work of fiction than Auckland’s too, don’t expect them to be on time! Also, there was conjecture about free parking at the hotel. There is none but in the winter it is free to park on the streets and in the summer you pay one euro per hour between 830AM and 9:30 PM in the designated blue parking spots. Look for the parking payment machine. Another thing was the enormous groups of boisterous students at the hotel, not an issue for us, but they were noisy at night, kids being kids. Oh, and the church belle rings next door the whole time! Hope that helps and sorry for the novel!

The food was inedible on the first night but me and my friends food has spit and hair on the plates. then the room had chewing and ants on the bed that got stuck to my pyjamas. Then all that night I could hear people downstairs working and the clock next to the hotel went off every 20-30 minutes. The staff were ok but you have to have room keeping and they nicked my mates money and hair gell. The toilet got flooded after we had a poo in it and the shower wasn’t mutch better!! The shower flooded the bathroom with water everywhere which made the floor wet and I nearly slipped brushing my teath. After the experience with my bed I checked the next day after room keeping and THE CHEWING GUM WAS STILL THERE!!!
