We stayed for four nights in this resort close to the centre of Bangtao village. When shown to our room I was a bit shocked. The room was small, dark and a bit dingy. A small. simple bathroom; the only outdoor space two chairs facing the path. As our stay here was a short one, we had booked a standard room, but hadn't expected something as basic as this. Walking around the grounds we noticed lots of bungalows at the back of the gardens. We enquired, and for a reasonable price difference were able to move into a very spacious bungalow with a lovely covered terrace the next day. Here we had a nice room with all the usual amenities we required: aircon, TV, WiFi, lots of storage space, kettle, fridge, a nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. I can't remember if there was a safe. We were in the last bungalow at the end of the garden, so we had peace and quiet. The gardens were lush, lots of greenery, and flowering plants. There isn't a proper beach, but a sort of seawall where you walk a few steps directly into the water. Along the waterfront there are sun loungers, spaced widely, and there is a small pool. There is a small restaurant, also at the seafront. Breakfast was included in our price. No buffet, just a choice of various different sets, but always including fresh fruit. Their menu is quite small, we just had some daytime snacks and one dinner (their seafood is lovely). I have reviewed the restaurant separately. The staff are almost all from Myanmar, you couldn't wish for nicer, friendlier and more helpful people; nothing was too much trouble. The location is good, next to the Best Western, close to restaurants, shops, bars etc. and the main beach which I loved when we visited a few years ago, but which has become too crowded for my liking. All in all, we would stay again for a few days in this lovely quiet but central place.
