Our Jungle House

"we stayed at the jungle house but also ate at our Junglecamp. Obviously, the resort cannot govern the weather but unfortunately the rain did dampen the use of the resort so it does affect this review but that is not obviously a result of the resort but something to take into account in terms of when you go. We had a treehouse which we thought would overlook the river and the cliffs as shown in their YouTube video. Unfortunately we could only see trees and there was no covering over the balcony so you couldn’t go out in the rain. Some do have coverings especially in our jungle camp and given the rain I would suggest you book these so you can sit out of an evening and have a view. A lot of people were complaining about not having Aircon, but this was not a problem as they give you mosquito nets and the room is open to the air with good fans so I do not believe this was an issue. We could sleep fine with the temperature. The bathroom has all the modern facilities, the beds are extremely comfortable and you are given complementary water. We do miss our tea and coffee luxury but you are told you don’t have this before you come and it is available at breakfast and just around the corner in the restaurant. One thing I didn’t anticipate is the treehouse will sway slightly when it is raining, you will obviously hear lots of noises and we did have little visitors in the room. As such, you have to be prepared for this you wouldn’t want to stay more than three nights because of the lack of sleep if you’re nervous about the insects or the rain but it is very much a novel and interesting thing to do. One thing that we were not aware of is you can walk to lots of bars and restaurants on the main street which was an added bonus. The restaurants are reasonably priced with great food. There’s a bar with a pool that you can sit and enjoy with the family and a game area. Lots of monkeys running around which is fun for the kids to see. We had dinner at our jungle camp which is probably the best meal we’ve had in Thailand really fresh, great service, reasonable price and highly recommended. The breakfast in the morning you can pre-book and was delicious and served à la carte. There was one night where my son missed last service so they ordered a takeaway to the restaurant bar area so the staff went over and above which we really appreciated. The tubing down the river lots of families did which was a lot of fun as well as kayaking which is a great added bonus for this resort. We thought we were nearer to the national park to do the lake than we were. This was a very long day and I would’ve stayed nearer had I known. So the resort is great but for the lake tour I would stay near otherwise it makes for a very long day. In the rain they give you umbrellas. You can pop to the bar or restaurant on site or pop into the town. I just think they need coverings over the balcony so that people can enjoy the setting even when it’s raining as it’s still warm. this was onl"
