"I stayed here with a team for six nights and the place is dire. Plug sockets were all opposite the bed so charging your phone and keeping in touch is a pain. One socket was cracked and intermittent (poss HSE issue). Soap dispenser was broken so the soap was in a paper cup and so leaking out of the cups seams all over the sink area. Breakfast is in a 8" x 5" box (200ml of water a UHT mile and peel top cornflake packet, long life pastry and a cereal bar). I was told cleaning of the room would only take place after 6 days (coincidentally our stay time) and reception was rarely occupied so grabbing the breakfast box in the morning was not always possible. Upside was the sheets were a decent quality as were the towels and there was hot water in the bath/shower."

"The service of this hotel is very good. The owner even wrote a letter to the guests staying in the hotel. The hotel looks like a castle. According to the hotel staff, the hotel facilities are very historical. The breakfast is very rich, and you can eat a full Scottish breakfast. The hotel parking is very convenient, just at the door. There are plenty of parking spaces, suitable for self-driving. There are no other facilities around the hotel, which is very suitable for accommodation on the way from Edinburgh to the Scottish Highlands."

"We have been happy with the location, only that our room was downstairs and located right across from the toilets for the pub. It was very noisy. And you couldn't open the window, cause the window is towards the courtyard and there was a table right in front of the window and people who visit the pub can sit at tables in the courtyard. "*The owners all were lovely, friendly and approachable - 5/5 *Location was perfect for us - 5/5 *Very little traffic noise from nearby very busy A90 - 4/5 *Beware! No breakfast provided but a quick tour into Errol and the local supermarket was sufficient for the first morning's needs. The Courtyard is advertised as B&B and website shows a continental breakfast - 0/5 *Beds - okay but a little noisy and restless sleep meant lots of creaks and 'pings' when turning in the night - 3/5 *Owner's doggies - lovely, friendly little things. 5/5 *Comfort: Settee/sofa was too hard for us and not at all comfortable to sit on; towels were fine but would have liked bathsheets rather than mere 'regular' size. They were quite hard and scratchy but I prefer that to too fluffy. 3/5 *Safety - no non-slip bath math and no 'grab bar' over the bath to help climb into the bath (there was one on wall by the door but it needs another on the far wall) 0/5 *Finally cleanliness - I'm very sad to give only a 3/5. LOTS of cobwebs containing the spiders' dinner remains, and dust on some surfaces. The loo had a mark that looked suspiciously like a small poo skiddy on the bowl and the seat had a hair on it. Kitchen utensils and bath ok but cleaner has no eye for detail in the nooks and crannies. *Would we go again? YES - but would take a bottle of bleach, breakfast items, non-slip bath mat and own bath sheets. "
