Banana Cottages

We had a wonderful few nights at Banana Cottages. The rooms are lovely with a decent bed, a fridge and even a water cooler which is a brilliant addition. It's so good to not have to buy plastic bottles. It also has hot water for coffees etc. The pool area is great to cool off and the staff are super friendly and helpful. There's also a nice choice for breakfast. The nearest beach isn't the prettiest but it's easy to hire bikes to explore the rest of the island. It's near to plenty of nice bars and restaurants and is about a 10 minute walk from the pier - no need for a horse cart. Throughly recommend this for a relaxing stay. The only slight negative is that the aircon wasn't the greatest and didn't really cool the room down. There is also a fan which made it bearable.

It was okay - I needed somewhere basic but decent for 1 night and this ticked all the boxes. The pool area and hotel grounds are lovely and so close to the beach, and safe/quiet, so the location is perfect. The towels and sheets were clean but the overall cleanliness could be improved, looked like surfaces hadn’t ever been wiped. Had a fridge and water cooler in the room though which was great. If you don’t want to spend any time in the room then this place is fine, but if you want to chill at the hotel then I’d find somewhere nicer. Staff were okay but seemed quite aggressive and not overly friendly.

My family and I enjoyed our 5 travel days at the Banana Collages. The included breakfast was delicious: omelets of choice, fruit juices, fresh mango/pineapple/banana. My bungalow's AC was on duty every moment except during an island blackout for about 90 minutes. Our other bungalow was less cold. This location was near the north shore for sunset, a short walk to the water for excellent snorkeling, other restaurants for lunch and dinner. We hired a snorkelling tour to other locations and had a great time and value. Excellent snorkeling guide and boat captain. Many workers on Gili live in Lombok and commute to work. Remember that when you are tipping people who earn far less than you. Many people used the pool which was beautiful. Housekeeping is sub-par to other places we stayed. I needed to be in when the cleaning staff came around to sweep and offer toilet paper. I needed 2 extra bed sheets since the bed had no mattress covering. I did learn how to fill the toilet tank to flush. Could have asked for help but I figured it out. All in all, a good value and terrific AC in my bungalow. We hired bikes from the Cottages and biked around fine.

Our room was very nice, had everything we needed. The property, especially the pool, is beautiful and very well maintained. Location is great, it's right next to the beach and was easy to walk to from the ferry terminal. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good

Me and my friends had an amazing time staying at Banana Cottages. The little cottages were lovely, I had my own little veranda at the front and outdoor bathroom out the back. It’s a simple place but everything was very clean and nicely put together. The grounds and pools are absolutely stunning with beautiful flowers and plants and the beach is seconds away! In comparison to what you could expect in England for the same money, this was like paradise for a ridiculously cheap price. There’s a nice restaurant on site where you get your free breakfast and we also had some other really nice meals there. The people who worked there were really friendly and happy to organise anything we wanted and helped us to sort trips and rented bicycles to us cheaply. It’s not on the main ***** but that makes it lovely and quiet in the evenings- but as nothing is very far away at all on the island you can get to restaurants and bars in minutes. After I left I realised I had left something really sentimental to me in my cottage, and the staff organised for it to be sent on the boat back to the mainland for me, and then when I wasn’t actually there, got it sent in the mail to a friend.. in short they were the kindest most helpful people ever, even when they didn’t really need to go that extra mile. I will 100% return if i ever make it back to Bali :)

Curieusement 2 jours avant notre arrivée nous recevons un message disant que notre réservation était annulée pour des problèmes électriques dans la chambre prévue pour nous. Il nous propose de nous trouver une solution de remplacement ce qui était à priori positif mais surtout de ne pas annuler sur Booking. Le jour de notre arrivée il nous reçoit et nous amène à l’autre hôtel le Salim Resort et nous demande un supplément (50% plus cher) en cash pas de carte crédit car il a déjà payé la chambre pour nous. Peut être a t’il majoré le prix et pris une commission mais invérifiable. Étrangement le jour de notre départ un couple est arrivé au Salim Resort car la chambre qu’ils avaient au Banana cottage n’était plus libre, donc idem supplément en cash ! Nous pouvons quand même le remercier car le Salim Resort est bien mieux placé que le Banana cottage, devant la plage et un bar au bord de l’eau avec du personnel très sympa. Peut être y a t’il du surbooking ?

Staff extrêmement sympathique et disponible, Petites maisons individuelles extrêmement charmantes avec salles de bain privatives grandes à ciel ouvert… piscine très agréable, proximité immédiate de l’océan à un endroit où le snorkeling est particulièrement intéressant ( poissons magnifiques, tortues, coraux) Tout cela a un prix extrêmement raisonnable pour cette île très touristique
