I was a little surprised at some of the negative reviews. The hotel is very easy to get to from Gare de Nord, reception very helpful and the room very comfortable - all for a reasonable price for an all but city centre hotel. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Our daughters 3 bed room was good although the shower head was loose. We had this hotel recommended to us and I will be recommending it to others.

4 nigths. 2 in the napoleon room: very good at 6th floor. Try this one. The other 2 in room 1: terrible toilets (run). The price are quite the same. Poor breakast. Good reception. Was a deception in a way. Better in the past. We don' recommend. We wi'll try a new hotel at St. Germain.

The location was very nice for exploring central Paris and the rooms pretty spacious. But the carpets were a little old and the bathroom very small. It can also be a little noisy, depending on where your room is located. Also keep in mind that the elevator is very small and the stairs a little steep. Overall a good hotel for the price.

Great location , Tired hotel not kept upto date. The description on the website is misleading. Bathrooms and rooms are tired looking. Single rooms are not very inviting. Clean linen . Take your own bathroom soap

Damp mouldy smell in room on arrival. Bathroom/ shower had mould everywhere! Asked for the bathroom to be cleaned and it never was. Booked on hotels website which stated breakfast included. On check out charged us 15€ pp for each day!! Stated they do not include breakfast anymore. In house TV stated breakfast was only 10€ each however would not honour this price. Front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. Room was in need of an update. Cigarette buts on little balcony when windows open. Tablet / medication sat in the stairwell for the whole week we were there. Carpets were filthy. Would not recommend on any level!! Look elsewhere! Not to mention the police raid in the middle of the night!

I had several issues with my room. I wasn’t getting help from the front desk. But I kept insisting and they resolved the issue by changing my room. It’s an upgrade and in the end I may offer to pay the difference in the upgrade.

Nice hotel, suitable for business purposes (I wouldn't come there with my family), very poor breakfast, I went out to eat every morning( Pic attached). If I had known it would be the breakfast, I wouldn’t have booked at this hotel, even though the rooms look modern and the staff were courteous.

Full and charm and fantastically located, quiet, super friendly staff, it's my go-to hotel in Paris. I stayed there four times in the past two months. One of its biggest assets is that, contrary to 99% of Parisian hotels, the Bonaparte doesn't go crazy with dynamic pricing. If you don't know what dynamic pricing is, it's the fact that a given room in a Parisian hotel in March will sell for three times (or more) the price in June, meaning you actually lose all connection between what you pay and what you get. The Bonaparte doesn't play this game. Of course, you will pay more in high season, but you will never pay 3,5x the price of low season. I'm not kidding when I say that probably all the other hotels I've stayed in in Paris (I do about 60 nights per year) rip you off without blinking as soon as tourists arrive. I'm currently revising all my reviews factoring in the highest price charged by these hotels, and all the ones I've stayed in so far have lost a couple of stars... except the Bonaparte. Is it perfect? No, but it doesn't matter. The single (garçonnières) rooms are uneven, some are perfectly fine, some feel a bit dated, especially since the rest of the hotel has been renovated. Why not renovate the garçonnières? Apart from that they are great because they are insanely cheap, and the bed, though single, is very comfortable. Second not-so-great point, breakfast is beyond basic, not even a fresh fruit or eggs. Granted, it's only 12 euros. You don't have to have it there. I think adding something fresh would be a plus. Despite these minor points, it scores big on all the others. Well done Hotel Bonaparte!
