Hotel de Suede Saint Germain

The worst hotel ever. They changed my room without notifying me. Throw all of my belonging into the suitcase with dirty shoes. The beds suck; towel is grey. Not willing to provide a receipt when the booking is done thru ctrip and *******.

This hotel has pros and cons. My husband and I stayed for a week recently and we needed comfortable and quiet accommodation. I’m very familiar with Paris and chose this location specifically for the upmarket district and central location. In this regard it was on a quiet residential street and fulfilled our needs. Also the hotel offers two twin beds pushed together which is slightly larger than a queen, very hard to find in Paris in the 3 star range. Now for the cons. The management is very limited on hospitality skills. I was surprised at the complete lack of professionalism by the two female managers. When I checked in I was rushed through a digital registration and my bill was ran on my credit card for advance payment in full. This wasn’t a problem but the front desk manager whom I had communicated with prior to arriving was so rude and told me “just sign “ without my even being able to check the charge amount against my records. Another female manager, possibly back office was so rude to her staff,probably a sign as to why no one ever looked up once in 6 days to say hello to guests. This manager was conducting an interview in the sitting room one afternoon and the tone of her voice and treatment of the applicant was shocking. I do speak French. Housekeeping was overwhelmed and also given far too much of a workload to even get to the room by late afternoon. The one young woman cleaning rooms was very nice but obviously not treated very well. She didn’t speak French either but I shouldn’t be overseeing the cleaning of my room anyway. If this hotel expects to meet the demands of guests this summer they need to up their guest interface skills to present as hospitable not invisible. One older gentleman who worked weekdays was actually helpful insofar as answering basic information questions that some guests had. He was probably the only asset they have quite honestly. So basically these folks were not polite, friendly or hospitality oriented. Breakfast seemed fine but whether you had paid and were entitled to it was again a little contentious. Try a little harder and maybe guests would feel like the experience is worth recommending. Despite it being 3 stars it still was not inexpensive. Up your game on meet and greet and eye contact with guests throughout their stay.

We stayed for a lovely 6 nights. It is an excellent location for touring Paris. Lots of walkable restaurants and shopping. Wonderfully quiet with great black out curtains. We will visit again.

Loved this hotel!!! Should be rated higher. Staff was helpful in every way!!! We needed help printing some info, no problem—staff helped us beyond normal standard. Owner and staff was attentive, making sure we had everything we needed during breakfast. Thank you fir your kindness!!!!

Great location. Walking distance to musée d’Orsay and musée Rodin. Staff is super friendly and helpful!

Well priced room for the area, clean updated rooms and bathrooms. We’ll sound insulated from other suites. Good walking score from Eiffel and Louvre.

Nice hotel well located in an interesting central arrondissement. Very clean, and quiet with my room having a view on gardens and trees. Room was small but had everything I needed for one night. Good value for money.

I was very impressed with this boutique hotel. All newly renovated, lovely decor, very chic. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. All expectations surpassed.
