Quiet, clean, good price. Could possibly do with a refurb but everything works well. Bed was comfy but squeaky. Great value for money, great for exploring Oxford and just somewhere to sleep. Lots of shops nearby. Would be an hour walk to the centre of Oxford but we just got a taxi which was £11. There was also a bus.

The only good thing about the tower house is the location, very central for everything. But it goes downhill from there, managers are non existent, very difficult to get hold of by phone and extremely rude and uncaring. The photos on their sites are of the two rooms they keep tidy for publicity and even they are not great. We arrived and had to phone, took several attempts for them to answer, they gave us code to keybox, let ourselves in, totally unmanned reception so had to phone again about which room we were in as no one was there. We were told that two rooms shared a bathroom which would have been ok but in reality The only bathroom is on the top floor with four flight of stairs and shared between 6 other rooms! So as you can imagine it was terrible to try and use the shower/ toilet as it was always occupied but we didn't really want to use it as it was so dirty with mould, mildew etc. We were in The little blue room, a small double but it wasn't a double bed but a queen size one so very small. There was a sink in a very dark alcove with no light as it was broken. The room itself was very dirty, stained carpet and bedding, dirty curtains, marks on walls, holes in the walls, large mark on one wall with holes where the bed head had been fixed to wall! Overall a very unkempt dirty room. The whole house had a feeling of disrepair, neglect, dirty, as if the owners couldn't be bothered. So sad to see a grade II listed building kept in such a condition. Feel that they just wanted peoples money and are uncaring of the condition of the house. We were not the only ones with similar complaints and concerns about broken and dirty rooms. When we complained we were told that it you don't like it then leave! We are writing to Oxford council ref the state of a listed building and the owners attitude towards visitors and contacting the other sites where they are listed to make people aware.

We stayed as a couple here for 2 nights for a concert in March. There is off road free parking and the guest house is spread over what looks like 4 houses. The welcome and the service was excellent. It was exceptionally clean and everything was like new. we were given tips on where to eat- and had an excellent evening meal just down the road. The location was excellent - we walked over to the bridge and down the river to the city- which was lovely. It is in easy walking distance to the city centre and there are lots of buses, cycle paths for those who don't want to walk. Our room looked on to the guesthouse gardens and a field. We normally don't book in a guesthouse - but would come here again and recommended it to family and friends

Great location in the centre of town with very easy check in, we had arrived early and it was with great that relief that Alex checked us in to the room straight away (thanks Alex) which was quite spacious and very comfortable. The only downside was that as the hotel is above some shops it is accessed via a number of steep narrow steps. This was our starting point for walking part of the Thames path and the venue kindly agreed to pass on our bags to the baggage transfer company (so a very big thanks).

The staff are very nice and the location is excellent - city centre easily walkable and there is a bus for £2 single anyway. The cooked breakfast is good, usually, although tomatoes were a bit hard. Smashed Avocado on toast was very good, as were the poached eggs. Breakfast buffet is not very impressive. Would have liked more than one cheese and sorry-looking ham. Disappointed that espresso or cappuccino etc were charged extra when the room was more than £300 a night. Suggestion to put in a coffee machine in the breakfast area so people can help themselves. Bathroom was just about adequate but shower head fixed and the hairdryer was on the wall in the bathroom, so underpowered to say the least. Needs renovation to come up to today’s expectations. Realise this is a Victorian house but the plumbing is not good when you can have to flush the loo numerous times..The hotel also needs better ventilation. During the summer, it can get very hot. There was no fitness area, no spa etc. Room cleaned only on request and no replacement of water bottles unless you request them. Not sure what makes this 4-star in terms of facilities. Wouldn’t stay again at more than £300 a night for a room that needs serious renovation to make it pleasurable. There is an excellent restaurant just steps away over Banbury Rd called Gee’s. Two pubs/other restaurants and a small shop close by in North Parade Avenue.

The look of this hotel looks very low-key! Even very inconspicuous, I arrived at night. After passing through the cemetery, I felt a little cautious in my heart, but I completely forgot when I entered the door. The hotel reception was small, with the restaurant, the atmosphere was very good, there was a small fireplace and bar, the hotel The waiter was also very enthusiastic. There was a Chinese lady who was very nice. The room was relatively large. The first night was a high-class room. It was quite big. The next day, the standard room was OK. The mattress was very comfortable. ! Hot water is also great! awesome

We received a very warm welcome, and were allowed to check in several hours early. Room was big, well furnished, and comfortable. We particularly liked having a small table and kitchenette for our breakfast! Lovely toiletries provided in the bathroom. There is a small car park, and also on road parking. Couldn't have asked for friendlier, more welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay again.

Drive directly from London Airport to the hotel. The hotel is located in a residential area. The appearance is a submit-detached house. When we arrived, there was a large truck of renovation garbage at the doorway of the yard, which looked a bit messy. Entering the room was still very tidy. It should have just been renovated and looked relatively new and clean. The house is of course an old house with a certain history. The heating and sockets are a bit old. The sockets are arranged near the baseboards of the house, which makes charging awkward. Now everyone has so many electronic devices, it is recommended that the store provide more charging sockets. We booked a family room. The room is large enough. On the ground floor, there is a floor-to-ceiling window leading to the back yard. In summer, there should be a small inner yard with a table for leisure, but we arrived in winter and the yard was not decorated. Breakfast was arranged in a small restaurant in the sun room. The food is relatively rich and the environment is warm. You can communicate with other travelers. The manager and waiter are also very enthusiastic and can do their best to help the guests. The transportation is not bad. We basically walk to the central area, which takes about 20 to 25 minutes. The advantage is that you don’t have to find a place to park, and you can also see the small colleges on both sides along the way. There are not many places to eat around, but there is a small bar about 15 minutes' walk away, which has 1 Michelin star. It is a little expensive, but the food is delicious and the atmosphere is good. Students in the school are discussing business plans, which is a very university atmosphere. You can park on the roadside in front of the hotel, which is convenient. The manager let us park in the small parking lot of the hotel, which makes us feel at home. The small hotel is free and warm, and you can enter and exit with a password at night. Overall, I am quite satisfied. I played in Oxford for two days, because it was three people, so the choice was not so much, so I decided to make it. The room was clean and tidy, but the faucet was leaking, and the chandelier inside was also bad. There was a door in the room that could not be closed.
