Hotel Cityexpress Covadonga

It’s difficult to know where to begin the list of what’s wrong with this hotel, but it should probably start with the manageress that seems to be in charge. She may be a perfectly nice person under normal circumstances, but she should not be running a hotel. It was important to me that I be able the charge my stay to my American Express card, so I asked before checking to be sure it was accepted there, and she affirmed that it was. You know what’s coming… upon checking out and settling accounts, my card was ultimately not accepted. I was able to hear some of her conversation with the Ibercaja rep (the company they use to facilitate credit card charges) – my Spanish is not good enough to understand everything, but I did hear the phrase “no contratada” more than once from the rep, which I take to mean the hotel was not, in fact, set up to take AmEx, and this was confirmed by a Spanish business-owner friend. The upshot: whether intentionally or out of ignorance, she lied, and neither possibility speaks well of her. In the end, I was forced to go to an ATM to withdraw cash to pay the bill – with my luggage held hostage, naturally. Oh, if that were the only issue… Expecting any of the advertised amenities to actually be provided seems to be too much for these people. The first minibar/fridge in the room did not work, and it took three attempts to switch it out for one that did. I then had to leave for the day before connecting to wi-fi from the room, and returned late that night to discover – surprise! – that it did not. My room appeared to be out of range of the wi-fi system, so I asked to change rooms the next day (7 days with no wi-fi in the room would have been a real hardship), at which point the manageress literally screamed at me, saying I can’t change rooms every day – even though this was the first and only room change. Thank god the new room did have wi-fi (and the fridge even worked)… I hate to think of what sort of abuse I might have been subjected to had I dared to complain again. They also have an irritating habit of disappearing from the reception desk and leaving the front door locked, so one is unable to enter or – more importantly and annoyingly – leave until someone deigns to reappear. At the time, this was about the cheapest hotel in Oviedo. Do think twice as to whether all the trouble is worth saving a few euros. My biggest regret is that my Spanish is not good enough to insist on lodging a complaint in the libro de reclamaciones over the credit card thing. I’m told the conversation shifts immediately once that happens.

el servicio normal. trato cordial. pero lo que no he entendido es que digan que encienden la calefacción a las 18 p.m y luego en la 3ª planta, a las 21:15 aún no esté encendido el radiador. tuvimos que pedir un calefactor por un 27 de noviembre, hace frío, es más, estuvo granizando todo el dia. asi que como verán, menos mal al calefactor pudimos secar algo las ropas.

El personal muy amable y atento a resolver cualquier duda o problema. La habitación cómoda y el baño un poco justo. el aparcamiento esta frente al hotel y es público y con un tique que te entrega el hotel te descuentan 3€. La valoración es buena y el trato exquisito y está en el centro. no me importaría repetir.

El hotel es malísimo. Una atención pésima, te ponen pegas para entrar antes de las dos aunque hayas dicho que llegas antes, no tienen calefacción (solo por la tarde y el principio de la noche, el resto de la noche, mañana y todo el principio de la tarde estás congelado), las habitaciones no tienen nada que ver con las fotos, son muchísimo peores. El teléfono no funciona (está de pega, como la calefacción) y encima la recepción son desagradables hasta el punto de mentirte e invent**** cosas para hacerte sentir mal (las paredes son de papel de fumar y se escucha TODO). Encima no puedes correr las cortinas porque te ven todas las habitaciones de alrededor (dan a un patio pequeño, viejo y feo). Hay sitios mil millones de veces mejores por el precio que piden, prefiero quedarme en un parque que volver.

La cobertura wifi no era buena, no llegaba dentro de la habitación. El colchon de mala calidad. El bidet estorbaba para sentarte en el inodoro. El flexo de la ducha demasiado rigido. No sabia y no supieron decirme, como comunicarme con recepción por el teléfono. Lo positivo fue que me facilitaron un descuento para el parking.

Para pasar una noche es aceptable, más no porque a pesar de estar muy bien situado el baño es demasiado pequeño y la limpieza deja mucho que desear, la ducha está bastante descuidada. Las sábanas bien, es un sitio para eso....una noche y una dicha rápida sin más....

El hotel es bastante ruidoso. Se oye a los huéspedes de otras habitaciones y las puertas hacen mucho ruido

Que no os engañen las fotos, llegamos al hotel, que podría ser hostal o pension perfectamente.. y nos dan la llave de la habitación doble de 90€ noche que habíamos contratado. Subimos a la 2ª planta y nos encontramos una especie de habitación de residencia de estudiantes tétrica totalmente, con mobiliario viejísimo y olor a viejísimo también.. pero evidentemente bajamos a la recepción para decirles que se habían debido equivocar porque una una habitación individual y el recepcionista nos insinuó que igual estábamos equivocados y eran dos camas de 90 juntas pero vamos que no había ninguna doble más disponible de todas formas.. al ver la cara que poníamos decidió no creernos y nos dijo que si le podíamos dejar la llave para subir a comprobarlo, así que nos fuimos a cenar y cuando volvimos lo había ““solucionado””.. Nos metió en una especie de habitación abuhardillada con las mismas características Brumelisticas en la que para ducharte te dabas con el techo y la puerta del baño no abría nada mas que hasta la mitad porque daba con la piedra del lavabo.. Ah bueno, y ya lo del parking de coña.. puedes contratar un descuento con ellos para el parking de al lado, así que os lo dieron, bajamos al parking, nos dicen que esta caducado, volvemos al hotel, que no pueden hacer nada, volvemos al parking h despues de hacernos el favor, resulta que el descuento eran 2€ jajajajjajaja No os olvideis del dato 90€ mas 15€ de parking menos 2€urazos del descuentazo por una habitación mugrienta de dos camas y el techo a 1,60m
