The place had so much space to play and take short walks when you need fresh air. Owner are friendly and helpful. My kids loved the pets and made friends. We can wait to book for next year. The water was low in the dam but the pools did the Job.

Service was average. The place is located in a very scenic location. However, we were accommodated in a cabin with no proper aircon in a place that is hot in summer. An aircon on wheels which we could not move from one room to another) was provided whilst the built in one mounted against the wall was either not working or switched off (no remote provided). Our cabin had a couch with a whole in one corner which was covered with a throw over. Apart from this the rooms were clean upon arrival and the service was friendly. We made some new friends who were booked into a chalet. Their accommodation was furnished better.

Location was amazing. Few improvements can be looked at. Bigger swimming pool. Upgrades to the braai area, was really unpleasant to braai when it rained. Complimentary cleaning service offered, we stayed for 5 days and had cleaning services once after requesting.

It was a nice break away from the hustle and buzzle from the city. Peace and tranquility are the order of the day. Best hostesses ever. Thank you very much Inke; Mariska and the little princess. The animals was super loveable. The staff very friendly they alsomake you feel like family. The mountains and the river cant describe in words.We definitely will come back. THANK YOU very much. Cango Retreat is truly a 'hidden gem' in more ways than one! Besides it location close to so may wonderful places to visit, it is situated on a river with beautiful trees, lawn and most friendly animals. The accommodation units are each unique, very well furnished and with soothing sound of river flowing causing a calming experience. The owners, Inge and Mariska, are very friendly and always ready to assist when needed. The venue in its truest sense is a real 'retreat'. Since our first visit in 2021, Cango Retreat has become an annual visiting place and much talked about when returning home. It is 'home' away from home and with each visit we experienced something new. Well done to the owners for making each visit an memorable one!

I would highly recommend Ou Tol Cango Retreat, the reception and service from Inge is exceptional. The tranquility, neatness of the entire place is a rare find these days. Loved the animals and absolute peace that the Cango Retreat offers, a place where one can find your inner soul again. Inge is a star on her own, always helpful and available to assist wherever she can. We will certainly return soon !

We loved staying at Cango Retreat, it was beautiful and cozy, the river flowing, Inge extremely helpful, and the Oudtshoorn Climbing Crag is only a 10 min drive away. The Braai packs are absolutely outstanding ;-)

From the moment we arrived we were absolutely amazed at the beauty, quietness and pure bliss. The free roaming animals who all greeted us from dogs to Meerkats. Our kids loved every minute of it. Will definitely be seen us again

What a great stay! We did a roadtrip and booked 3 nights. What a surprise.... Gardens kept very neat and unit was perfect. We couldnt ask for anything more. From swimming in the river, hiking, jacuzzi, picnic on the grass, sitting outside by the fire, enjoying all the birds, and made a few fury friends. The list can go on. We left with a very heavy heart and will defn return and spend more time. Well done!! Its a perfect relaxing gem with lots of personal touches. See you soon!!!
