Australis Guest House

Australis Bed and Breakfast is a clean, quiet, and ideally located place to stay with great hosts and delicious breakfast. The hosts made me feel like I was staying at a good family home. They were very friendly, polite, helpful and warm. The room had all you needed at a great location for an excellent price. If I have to return to Ottawa, I will look to stay at this place again.

I had a wonderful stay at Australis guest house. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a private bathroom and shower down the hall. The breakfast of homemade muffins, yogurt, fruit and eggs was delicious and filling each morning. The location was also perfect for visiting a friend in the Sandy Hill neighborhood. Brian and Carole were fantastic hosts. I had trouble with my car while I was there and Brian and Carole went the extra mile to help me find an excellent mechanic and make sure I was all set for the long drive home. I will definitely stay at Australis Guest House when I return.

I recently returned to Australis Guest House, after having stayed there a few years ago. 3 nights. I didn't want a Hotel, nor Airbnb--but I wanted someplace quiet/very quiet, within 20 mins of Byward Market--and with the best breakfast in Ottawa. Carole & Brian are superb hosts and great conversationalists. The rooms have everything you can think of. Bed & Breakfasts are still around, and Australis is one of the best!

Wonderful, warm abode, central to downtown Ottawa. A traditional home (there are stairs!), with all those necessary extras we appreciate. Comfy beds, tea making facilities & in room fridges. Generous & interesting hosts! Definitely recommend for those wanting a homey environment at reasonable cost.

Australis is everything a B&B should be...traditional character home, great location, comfy beds, delicious cooked breakfasts and, best of all wonderful friendly and helpful hosts. Book direct by emailing--Carol and Brian are quick to respond and will help you get sorted. They have extensive local knowledge and their suggestions and advice has never disappointed--restaurants, events, tickets, parking? They've got it covered! This wasn't my first stay at Australis and certainly won't be my last!

Carol and Brian are great hosts. We had a great time staying with them and having interesting conversations over an abundant breakfast sharing our respective early years spent in Australia. The location is very walkable to downtown but in a very nice residential area. Well worth it to have a "holiday" within a holiday at Australis Bed and Breakfast. Thank you guys. We'll be back.

I've stayed at Australis Guest House on several occasions. My most recent visit was in June 2022 and I was so excited that they were open again. It's like staying in your favourite aunt and uncle's house. You instantly feel at home. Carol and Brian have a wealth of local knowledge, no matter what your interests are. The location is perfect: it's in a quiet neighbourhood near a lovely park and is also in walking distance of ByWard Market and downtown Ottawa. The breakfasts are amazing! But it's the hosts who make the place so special. Of all the places I've travelled to, this is one of my favourite places to stay. I can't wait for my next visit.
