Oceanic Motel

Should be condemned. People must have been paid for any compliments No hot water. Shower handle fell off when I turned it. Toilet seat was broken. Small outdated sink was pulling away from the wall. The blinds were broken and missing slats. Lock on door was difficult to open. Take my word. No matter how low they drop the price DO NOT waste your money.

This is an awesome place to stay convenient location to everything And friendly staff would definitely visit again free parking with your stay many amenities tell your friends I give it 5 stars I have stayed here for more than 30 years and will continue to do so

If you want the Hilton, this spot is not for you. It’s clean but small great staff great location great people ,close to everything. The great people staying there is what makes your experience unique we were out until 4 o’clock in the morning, talking to her neighbors some nights it’s not for everyone but for us it’s perfect

This is the second time that we stayed at the Oceanic. It is rustic and quirky and a bit old. A 1950's style place. But it is also quaint and fun! Rushad at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We love the location. It is great to sit and watch the boats go thru the inlet. A lot of fisherman and families stay here. An easy walk to the boardwalk. Everyone was friendly. It is bright in the room all night and you may hear people talking when they walk by. We will definitely be back again! Thanks!

The only good thing about this property is the polite staff. My family and I have stayed in OCMD many times and decided to try the oceanic based on the pictures and location. The pictures online are NOTHING like the room we stayed in. We got room 28 and room 9. Awful. We wouldn’t even get in under any covers and slept in our full clothes and hoodies because the sheets/blankets and even the mattress covers on the bed were dirty and gross looking. Stains, rips, and smelled. The only reason we didn’t complain and get a refund was because it was late and kids were exhausted and we weren’t sure if we were even able to get a new hotel at the last minute. The location was decent but I would not recommend. I know the hotel is not responsible for loud neighbors and an obscene amount of flies on the room but that really ****** also. The outside lights were on all night and made the room really bright in the middle of the night, no hot water, water stains on the ceiling, tears on the mattress protectors, smelly old bedding, strange lumpy pillows, and overall a very rough overnight stay. I think this hotel has a lot of potential but for now, it’s in rough shape and we will not be staying there in the future, unfortunately.

10/10 RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! Have had the best accommodations, convenient location and the hospitality was just phenomenal! Angie and Tasha at the office were just the sweetest people to my mother and I! We’ll be returning in the very near future!!

Room 33 smelled like urine The sofa bed mattress had stains on it which they did replace. The room is very small. One of the amenities is daily maid service. Day one we were handed clean towels. Trash was not emptied and beds were not made. Day 2 clean towels and trash emptied. The staff were all very friendly. The bathroom is so small. The lights from the parking lot next door shined in the bedroom window which made it seem like daylight in the middle of the night and that's with the blinds closed. Some guests were very loud, playing music with explicit lyrics until 3-4am. We complained and was told " I told them about it several times". This continued our entire stay. After being told several times they should have been made to leave. This group was loud and constantly using foul language. They should have been respectful of others but since they weren't the hotel should have done something about it. I will never stay here again. Due to the lack of housekeeping, the smell, allowing other guests to keep others awake and arriving to find a dirty mattress.

Great location away from rest of hotels. Nice scenic inlet with small.beach ...however I could not enjoy it or rest both evenings as there was a group of kids loudly partying outside my room indifferent to guests. Owner runs nice seafood restaurant about a block away...overlooks Assateague NS. Room very small with just the basics though shower nice. Slight smell of smoke. Not much privacy due to thin blinds on windows.

I did my research of this motel. Was excepting old and out dated. Was not expecting dirty, and unkepted place. 1-The office over charged my credit cared an extra night. I went into the office to have it taken care of but got the go around so unfortunately it was not fixed and refunded to my card until the day I checked out when I got to speak with another staff member. 2-When walking into our room the TV in the bedroom was on and loud like someone was in there already just hanging out. 3-No phones in the room. No way to contact front desk or 911 if needed 4-Front door was very unsecure. It moved/jiggles when locked. No bolt lock just cheap dollar store chain. Did not feel safe at night sleeping or leaving any valuables in the room. 5-Cigrette burns all in the top blankets supposed to be non smoking rooms!! 6-No box springs so be prepared to be uncomfortable sleeping. 7-No curtains. The shades were all small, dirty or broken and did not cover the windows correctly again another security factor as anyone can look into your room while inside. We had to buy eye covers to sleep at night as the lights from parking area and front door glared into the rooms feeling like daylight 24 hrs a day. 8-Bathroom looked like it was attempted to be redone. Toilet was loose. Dusted covered exposed pipes and air vent. 9-Although staff was friendly enough, some staff members stay at the motel. They hang out with guests partying with them drinking and smoking pot and blurring loud music causing loud distrubance until late at night. Very unprofessional. 10-It is a No Pet allowed motel and there was at least 3 dogs I saw running around the property unleshed with guests and not service animals either!! Cleaning staff only put sheets, towels in rooms and empty garbage bins only after guests left… no cleaning supplies or vacuum on cart. Not worth the money they charge a night and would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The place would have potential if ran correctly and kept clean.
