Excelente localização, priveligiada para apreciar a fauna local (pássaros, búfalos, elefantes e hienas). Refeições muito boas e habitações pequenas mas muito simpáticas. Empregados simpáticos e dedicados. Excelente para fotografia da natureza, relativamente perto de Nairóbi. O Aberdare Country Club, é também um local fantástico e funciona como ponto de partida e chegada ao The Ark. Recomendo!

My wife and I spent a night at The Ark Lodge in Aberdare National Park, and it was an extraordinary experience. The highlight was definitely being able to watch wildlife, especially elephants, come up close to drink water, offering us a front-row seat to a natural spectacle. The accommodations at the lodge were cozy and welcoming. The food was delightful, but it was the tranquil moments spent at the lodge's bar, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding nature, that truly made a memorable impact on us.

A wonderful and unique experience. The rooms are small but the hospitality is excellent. We were able to see so many beautiful animals. Food was absolutely delicious and Stephen is very knowledgeable about the Ark and the surrounding areas.

lace Why go on a game drive when the animals come to you. The 4 levels of balcony (check out the bunker) all facing the man-made watering hole, which attracts close-up elephants, water buffalos, hyenas, and warthogs You can also see their bird feeding time and perhaps a genet and mongoose or two. Night time your room has a buzzer which you can turn on or off to be notified of any animals approaching. We got to see the animals clearly in the afternoon but heard no ringing in the night. A few eager people in our group decided to stay up all night in anticipation for front row seats. One side of the rooms faces the trees while the other (better) side you may see the animals come in. The rooms here are smaller and more rustic.

If we could give 3.5 we would. Stayed our first night on safari and experience may have been affected through being so tired . However the room was very , and I mean very , small in comparison to subsequent experiences. The shower leaked all over the floor and the only power socket was behind the bed and very inaccessible. No air con or fan , and lots of noise from other rooms. The main building is on 4 levels and we were lucky enough to see an elephant on arrival and a genet wild cat later at night. Also lots of birds, bucks and buffalo but nothing really exotic. The buzzer did not go off in the night (luck of the draw). Bar was nice and prices reasonable, food was ok both at dinner and breakfast and service ( as was the service throughout Kenya). Would suggest one night is definitely enough.

Checked in on the 23rd December 2023. The lodge is beautiful and located in the Aberdare's National Park. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The meals are delicious with a wide spread of both Vegetarian and Non vegetarian cusine. All the staffs are welcoming and friendly.

We loved our 2 days at The Arc. We went on a day safari and saw many animals and several very satisfying waterfalls. The food was excellent. A nice bar. And the evening lecture by Stephen on the theme of elephants was interesting and well done. We also loved the hot water-bottles in our bed at night!

The staff is Very Nice. The rooms/bathroom need a deep cleaning. Bed Very Hard. Toilet didn't flush, water ran in it constantly. Location is Beautiful. Only unique animal we saw was a Genet Cat. Wouldn't recommend if you want a 4 or 5 Star Room. Room is more like 1 or 2 Stars.

We spent two days at The Ark Lodge inside Aberdare National Park in Nyeri, Kenya. This lodge is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Especially if you love elephants, this is the best place to watch them in their habitat. Thanks to the Ark's location near a salt lick and a water hole, it draws many animals towards it day and night. We saw Water Buffalos, Antelopes, Hyenas, Baboons, Warthogs, Birds, and of course herds of Elephants during our stay at the Ark. Enjoying some coffee or tea with delicious cakes served in the viewing deck is a nice way to spend time watching these animals. The food at The Ark was amazing and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall The Ark Lodge is a must visit if you visit Kenya. A trip here will definitely be worth it !
