Nyungwe Top View Hotel

My experience in Nyungwe top view hill hotel was really amazing seeing the monkeys at the office hahahahaha i loved the way they were moving around. It's an eco-friendly hotel and have excellent team in their services The rooms are well organised....

Absolutely loved our 2 night stay at this lodge! The hotel staff provided excellent service - right from the reception staff, to the restaurant, housekeeping, etc. They made us feel like valued guests and were extremely responsive to our needs and requests. I needed ice one evening for my hurting knee, and they wrapped up some ice so efficiently, to make an ice pack. The location is beautiful. Each cottage is spacious, with a sitting room, bedroom, and private balcony. The layout is beautiful and very peaceful. Another reviewer had mentioned about the hot water in the bathrooms. It does run out in the showers if you tend to have longer showers, so we were careful and had no problems. Other reviewers comments about the taste of the buffet food at dinner might be somewhat accurate. It was a hit and miss, but we always found enough to eat. Whatever might be slightly lacking in taste, is more than made up by their service. Lunch was good, and beautifully presented. Breakfast had sufficient choices, along with a made to order eggs option. They provided us with a packed breakfast for the morning of our Chimpanzee Trek, which was plentiful. My husband and I loved our stay! If you want gorgeous views, attentive staff, peaceful surroundings - then this is the place for you.

The hotel is located high on a hill and has wonderful views. The cottages are very nice and large. We had a deck with chairs that over looked the valley and all the amazing plants. The staff were so friendly and helpful and also provided laundry service as well as cleaning our boots after our trek. The food was great but the menu did not vary much from day to day. It is a great place to stay. We traveled to see the chimpanzees when we stayed there.

This was our favourite hotel in Rwanda and we could have stayed much longer than the three nights. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable with stunning views from the generous balconies. The staff were very friendly and professional and the food was very good. Perfect spot for exploring the amazing Nyungwe forest

The Nyungwe Top view hotel is in a great location and both the central building and the bungalows are very scenic. It is the only mid-range option in the neighborhood of Nyungwe national park. The staff are friendly and helpful. The disadvantages are that there is no wifi in the bungalows, and that the food sounds good on the menu, but is not very tasty. Breakfast quite good though.

My wife and I spent one night at this establishment. First the positives - Ange at reception was absolutely wonderful and very welcoming. The other staff were helpful and well meaning but often seemed overwhelmed. The room was clean and cozy and the fireplace was a nice touch. Now the negatives: Of all the places we stayed during our two weeks in Rwanda / Uganda this rated near the bottom in terms of service orientation and food. Unlike other establishments we stayed in, the vegetarian food options were very limited and it was the only place where food was buffet style. As we had the luxury of a late morning, by the time we got to breakfast, there was hardly any food left! Not sure I would consider this property again.

Yet somewhat dated, everything was very clean and functional. I looked forward to my meals each day since the restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful and the food was good. We had a fire made for us in our room. There were hummingbirds feeding from the flowers outside our room patio. We felt safe our entire stay. Beautiful view of the forest and Lake Kivu in the distance. We would stay here again.

We had visited the hotel in January 2024 to stay for 2 nights, and for Chimpanzee trekking. Beautiful location, good spacious cottages, very good staff, food was reasonably good. They have arranged the Chimpanzee trekking smoothly. It is a god place for bird watching too.

Although the furnishings in this lodge are a bit dated and our sideboard seemed slowly falling to pieces, overall, this accommodation is excellent. The staff were most friendly and helpful without exception, the food was delicious and plentiful, the sleep quality heavenly and the location perfect for all activities in the Nyungwe Forest. The views from the hilltop are breathtaking. Great place to stay.
