Coonoor Mountain Stay by Lexstays

Location: terrible. We saw bikers flocking the homestays here, but the road is actually non existent for this property if you are on a loaded four-wheeler. The challenge in navigating narrow, steep, potholed and loose stone pathway leading to this homestay kept us worried if we would be able to drive back up. Food: highly limited. The hosts would try to prepare the orders but it's not hygienic or tasty. Order online and wait for some biker to take the bad roads and deliver your food. Stay: 6 rooms. 2 rooms on top level, on the approach road are habitable. The rooms down do not have any ventilation. Of course do not expect any amenities in even 2 star hotels. We took 3 deluxe rooms which had no view, damp and smelly. Surroundings: the one good part, you get to see the plantation and valleys with clouds passing by. It's serene, no one comes there. You too won't feel like going anywhere and coming back. We had toy train booking from coonoor to ooty, so we decided to stay there. Recommendation is not to stay in coonoor and stay in ooty which has many good hotels at reasonable prices. We paid more than hotel lake view in ooty for this homestay. Nearby: other homestays some 2 km before can be booked if you want to stay and do some sightseeing. Service: dine in your room only, water served is not good. Got one towel per room in three rooms booked for 7 adults. Summary: do not consider if you are not fixed between a ditch and very hard spot. And beware if you are on your own car.

No privacy- no proper curtains, damaged window locks, no ceiling fan, cannot open windows because the monkeys come in, at night there is lots of insects, lizards, etc inside the room, no wifi, need proper maintenance, and most of all the access is difficult as the road is not proper. Reception was ok. But over all the above if you are looking for simple, average place and can be adjusted kind of mindset then you can go to such resort.

The windows in those rooms are not locked, the bathrooms need a little more maintenance, security is a bit of a problem with the family. coonuru city itself is a bit of a nuisance as it is in the outscut. The route to reach the rooms is difficult. Small insects are also a bit of a nuisance. Worth less.

The location of the property is little remote. No other facilities nearby. Approach road quality is poor. However, food and other amenities good. The service is excellent. Not worth as charged to us

Firstly the hotel location was not correctly updated. It is very far from the city center and difficult to reach. Caretaker manages everything and food was average.

All are very bad, no good hospitality, no lunch and no hot water also. I have never seen like this bad experience. But the location is good.

Overall very good experience. One big alert Room is very nice. The location is just 2 km away from coonoor bus stand but it feels like 5 km as the way is terrible very very bad....can't explain you have to be a pro driver. More than that the stay is allowed only for families and couples. But be alert road is full of stones. There is no people presence for 1.5 km. There is no direction board for the place it is so confusing. So please be vigilant not to go out of the correct path..... Never ever travel to this place in darkness.. please reach the spot before sunlight goes off......we have gone out of track by mistake and gone into scary deserted wild place.... actually it is just 7.30 pm only...but you will feel it is like midnight.. in coonoor there is danger of leopard and bison everywhere.............once you reach the place it is so pleasant nice, deep silence.... enjoy the view, you can have a very very good stay there......... enjoy the nature at its core..

It was indeed a wonderful experience. The caretaker saldeep was kind enough to help us in coordinating with the booking manager during our stay.
