The Kilbirnie Hotel

Reception fine with early book in. Reception staff very good. Breakfast average. Room clean and tidy. Noise in room horrendous. Because the adjoining wall to next room must be paper thin. Heard all conversations clearly including someone snoring all night. Unacceptable. No sleep 3 nights. Will not be back.

Very good hotel. Clean. Comfortable. Nice staff. Food good. Very little to find fault with. Well done them. The hotel is front line so nothing to spoil the view. An easy walk into town. Have accessible disabled toilets on ground floor. There are leisure facilities which are complementary

I've just completed a 4 night stay here with Jason Edwards Travel .and I would definitely recommend the hotel .really nice Reception / bat / entertainment areas .Good size rooms with very comfortable beds .rooms even have a safe .well decorated hotel . Dinner is waiter service and great lovely food well prepared and tasty quickly served .Breakfast is a buffet style with a good variety. Entertainment every night .we were well looked after by Stewart and his team .would I come back yes .Jason Edwards Travel has lots of great price holidays

We had a one night stay for my sons birthday. Family room was.big and very clean.only down fall the heating and towl rail won't working which we reported to reception to be told there nothing they could do as no one around to take a look..then once again in the might time I told the night porter and he very kindly caught us a porterable electric heater to keep us warm.. beds was ok Breakfast was nice but they kept running out of hot food.

There are not many superlatives left to summarise my stay. On arrival my room, 101, was immaculately clean, warm and welcoming with a good hospitality tray and a kettle devoid of any previous guests water, exactly as it should be. Ok the plastic kettle handle had a small piece missing and maybe should have been replaced. The bathroom was large, the shower providing plenty of hot water and the towels were good. A grab handle may help some guests but with a window maybe not easy to fix. The evening meal was excellent with a varied menu, the breakfast equally as good with plenty of choice for those not wanting the hot stuff. Keeping everything hot is always going to be an issue when breakfast starts at 7.30 and lasting a couple of hours. The entertainment on each night was exceptional with Andy on wednesday night doing 140 minutes without a break. Outstanding. The staff were terrific, sociable and very welcoming. I wouldn't normally mention individuals but Blessing and Emma were fantastic. Hospitality at its best. The hotel and staff certainly know how to look after coach parties, many travellers on the tour were so complimentary about their whole experience I do hope they give a review. My expectations were well and truly exceeded. Thank you for a superb stay, even Ciaran could not dampen our spirits, and oh yes Happy Hour was not to be missed.

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a coach holiday & were very happy with the choice of hotel. Probably the best we have stayed in on this type of trip. The reception, bar area & our room were newly decorated & everything was spotlessly clean & tastefully done. Could not fault our room, clean & comfortable. Plenty of hot water available & nice fluffy towels. Food choices were good at both breakfast & dinner although did keep running out of hot items at breakfast. Drinks selection in the bar was very good and prices very reasonable for a hotel. Evening entertainment was good especially Fri night with the singer Mike Williams. Location good only a short walk into town centre or there were plenty of buses with a stop outside the hotel. Staff at the hotel were all lively. Helpful & friendly & went out of their way to make sure everyone was having a good time. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel & would love to come back.

I cannot fault the Kilbirnie hotel. Well run, polite staff, cleanliness first class. Good entertainment each evening. Self serve breakfast, table serve evening meal. Good choice at evening meal, the food and service excellent. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel. Visited with Just Go.

I was not expecting such a high standard of accommodation and such exceptional value. I had a single room which despite its size had everything I needed and a place for everything. The bathroom was compact but more than adequate and everything was wonderfully clean and sparkling. The whole team without exception are magnificent and take great pride and care in the services they provide. The decor throughout the hotel was very stylish and appeared to have been recently re-decorated and everywhere seems to have been very well-maintained. I didn't visit the pools or gym so cannot comment on those facilities. The food in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner was of a generally high standard and my dietary restrictions were accommodated. Gemma from the restaurant team is a star performer with tip-top customer service skills. I do hope she is valued by management. The evening entertainment in the bar/ballroom was a bit hit and miss but we were spoiled on the first night of our stay with the singer Mike Williams who set a high bar for those less impressive performers who followed on subsequent nights. Newquay is not the most beautiful resort in Cornwall but it is very well placed for visiting other areas of interest and the Kilbirnie is a gem of a hotel to use as your base.

A snooty, pretentious little hotel with very little by the way of customer service. Management were stuffy, rude, and insulting. Facilities are tired and under staffed, we had to ask for service in the bar from reception on more than one occasion, the pool was filthy, and towels not changed during our stay despite leaving them on the floor.
