Bacon Arms, Newbury

were do I start this hotel dirtiest ever stayed in .. the hotel is nothing like it says. cups in room dirty. bathroom and shower curtain fit for bin mould . radiator all blood and dirty pictures of it all . would not recommend this hotel. so I'm writing this as other quests no wot to expect before booking

I would like to give a big shout out to all the staff and the management at The Bacon Arms Newbury. Maria and her staff provided the most excellent venue and food for my partners suprise 60th birthday party. The food was absolutely fantastic , a totally vegan buffet for all our guests who all commented how delicious it all was. Marias staff were all friendly and catered for our every need. I would not hesitate in recommending The Bacon Arms if you are needing a venue that just lets you get on with doing your own thing while supporting your needs 100%. Thankyou for making this a night to remember.

Brilliant place to be, lovely pub/hotel and the staff are amazing. Lucky enough to go when they had live music and the venue is just super. The food is really reasonably priced, menu is varied and taste delicious

I found the staff a bit bratty when I complained about my room. But the so called “landlords” were rude. So I went to reception to complain about the state of my room as it was obviously not cleaned properly and the staff said “it’s what you pay for”. Then the landlord shows up and with an attitude asks what’s going on. I said exactly what I said to the receptionist and he said: if you don’t like it then go somewhere else. What did you expect for what you paid for - the Ritz? I would definitely not be returning nor recommending this hotel to anyone.

Lovely dog friendly pub that we visited on our way through Newbury. Parking out the back so it was easy with the dogs and there's a lovely beer garden! Enjoyed a cold beer and chat with the landlords who were great and we look forward to visiting again.

This is a really nice pub/hotel. We just had drinks but the food we saw looked very nice. The staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a really nice atmsphere. We will definitely call in again when we're passing.

This hotel is great value for money situated in the centre of Newbury and a free car park extra bonus The rooms were very clean and staff most helpful everything we needed was in the room also Would definetly stay there again

Popped in for a couple of drinks with my family and dog while in Newbury. Lovely old pub with very reasonable prices, run by a friendly couple who gave us helpful hints about places to go in the town. Didn’t eat but the menu looked huge and well-priced.

Arrived,unfortunately to drainage maintenance and electrical works happening,this was cleared quickly. Check in,room on the front,little dated but good value,great shower,little noisy in the morning from the road. Hairdryer not working and the lovely manager gave me her own( great service) unfortunately it was the sockets that had blown,reported and sorted very quickly. Spoke to the manager,all resolved and a free glass of wine.This is a good budget option,it is a very old building,with obvious trates. Would recommend for short budget stay,would recomend information about getting in and out of the building,as going for breakfast in town,a little frustration as we tried door after door and ended up having to walk round the block
