We loved it! We were in one of the refurbished outbuildings along the car park. No problem with that. The car was parked literally just outside our door so we could move luggage easily. The bathroom was clean and well-appointed. The beds were comfy. The staff were super helpful and sweet. We loved the decor, where the old roof beams had been left on view, giving you the feel of a cottage! There is still some work to be done on the structure outside, but, at the price, £58.00 for a twin room, this was fantastic value. We did have an issue with the noise from the traffic on the road outside, but this is not the hotel's fault. After all, it is in the centre of Newbury. Would absolutely choose this place again.

Friendly staff, easy check-in, comfortable room with everything you need. Stayed in the deluxe double, the bed was huge and very comfortable. Great bar and wonderful food! Wonderful location right in the heart of Newbury. This was my second stay, I'd highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and were warmly welcomed by the smiling staff. Our drinks were delivered quickly and still out waiting on staff were very attentive. Lunch was served to us within the an acceptable time limit which pleased us all as we were most hungry when smelling the food served to other tables around us. Next visit to Newbury we will most definitely pop in for a meal without doubt.

The staff looked bored and unconcerned about their guests. There was music playing in the bar area early in the morning (＜8:30) so ensure you have earplugs or are an early riser. The room was clean, functional and large with basic amenities like tea/coffee and a hairdryer but had issues in the bathroom. The extractor did not work and there were no windows so was a necessity. Reported to MGMT - who did nothing. Location and free parking were the highlights. Come again - doubt it!

Lovely stay Good location for the races, car park tricky had to wait for the buzzer other than that great service and hot food. We had the fish and chips which we thought was nice. The beer batter was crispy and tasty. We would definitely return to this pub. It’s one of the more more interesting pubs in this area

The hotel has a great location, we experienced the light above the mirror in the bathroom didn’t work,plug in the bathroom needed a rubber ring to stop the water,blind in one of the windows didn’t work, radio came on at 6am automatically!!!!

I’ve been here a few times now and the rooms are excellent, great staff and food. It’s also a great location to see Newbury from. It’s always been very clean in the bathrooms and the bedding is fresh. Something other hotels seem to miss often. I will probably stay again.

The bed was very comfortable, the room very big and well-equipped with tea and coffee facilities; hotel very central and practical. Sadly it was very noisy, but I was provided with earplugs after requesting as I was told at booking that they provided them. I enjoyed my stay, and it provided what I needed.
