Located next to Winchester Cathedral and close to High street, the hotel is quiet and comfortable.

Phenomenal experience from Jane Theyer (General Mgr / Hotel Mgr). Her team surpass all expectations and always go over and beyond to exceed expectations It’s a joy and privilege to be a guest of Jane and her team. I look forward to staying again in due course.

No early check in available. Towels in room looked poor quality. Pre-paid Dinner and Breakfast. Dinner splendid quality, service and value. Breakfast a disaster. Supposedly serving until 11am bur from 10.20 very limited items available. No tomatoes or beans only 2 sad fried eggs so asked for a poached egg poorly cooked and presented. Bacon ok but few Sausages left were overcooked. My wife despite prepaying full opted for Continental but no yoghurts or croissants. £10.99 for muesli, toast and tea. Newbury South never again.

Cold room, tried turning the heating on but it kept making a clicking noise so turned off again. Banging from door underneath, seems there is a loading door / staff room or office underneath the room we were in and could hear the door banging until Midnight and started again around 3am, no staff on reception podium when I went down to discuss so had to get on with it. Left as early as possible - very uncomfortable and unrested stay.

The evening meal was great along with the breakfast being fantastic! The staff were very welcoming, the hotel is in a great location. Many thanks to Jane the manager platinum service, we will definitely come back and stay. 10/10 super value for money 💰

What an amazing stay I had at this hotel with my family! I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is thinking of staying in this area! A massive thank you to Jane theyer the manager and her colleagues for making sure our stay was just perfect! 5 stars all around!!

Hidden Gem. Lovely clean rooms. Staff helpful especially at breakfast. Paula. Michelle. Manu. Pete. Kept tables clear and clean. Making Waiting time for a table minimal. Food hot and tasty. Thank you will return again. Easy access to local bus service aswell

Family short trip, was well worth it. - Great hotel for a budget family trip. - room clean and big enough for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) - Sumptuous breakfast. - Hotel is within its own secure compound. - Close proximity to Oxford, Reading and Newbury - with lots of fun activities for families. - Above all for us, the people make this hotel great. Special thanks to Jane and the team for doing their best to deliver great hospitality. I like the great team work too, every one supporting each other. Downside: - Room was too cold for us even after turning off the A/C. We should have known that it is centrally controlled. So worth noting for future guests. - Kids £1 meal could be better or just taken off the menus. The adult dinner was excellent, for us. kids are better off ordering from the adult menu. Overall, I will certainly comeback to this hotel.

The waiting staff at this place are rude and disinterested. I will not be staying here again. Always waiting around to check in,book a table, wait for them to take your order. And very rude, the food when it came out wasn’t bad at all……………………..
