My colleague and I both booked rooms via our work online booking system. When we arrived, my colleague had a lovely room on the 2nd floor with balcony, and I was sent to a conference centre room at the back and quite a long walk (2 elevators) from the reception. My first room was very hot and the room had a very musty smell. I tried to call reception to change my room but the phone would to connect. I then walked back to reception and asked to change my room, which they kindly agreed to. I also asked why my colleague was given a room on the 2nd floor but no real reason was given, other than allocation. I was then given an alternative room, again back down to the conference centre. At this point, I had to leave for a meeting so did not have time to change again. The room was very basic and the curtains did not fit the window. I travel a great deal for work and was very disappointed in this hotel. I’m surprised that I was not offered an upgrade as I would have paid the extra…
