Elaiolithos - Luxury Villa Suites - Adults Only

There are many places in the mediterranean and on Naxos where you can have a nice beach vacation, but none are as unique as ELaiolithos. Besides the stunning and picturesque views of the lush greenery that fills the valleys between the mountains, its setting in the middle of the island provides many advantages a beachside coastal resort lacks. It’s no more than a thirty minute drive from almost anywhere you want to go, and is in close proximity to numerous charming and lively mountain towns, including Chalki, Filoti, Aperanthos, and Moni. From Naxos town, you may drive into the high country once during your trip, and miss out on many of the things that make the island spectacular. The hotel resides at a nexus point of incredible hikes through ancient paths dotted with vibrant wildflowers, historical sites, and grand vistas. The rooms (we stayed in the spacious Oraia Eleni suite) were creatively decorated, clean, and private. But where ELaiolithos truly sets itself apart is its staff and cuisine. The owner, Helen, and her family have lived in the mountains of Naxos for generations, and have recommendations for every type of traveller. Every afternoon when we would return from a long day of adventures, Helen would greet us with cool drinks and a smile and ask, “did you love it?” knowing that our answer was always a resounding yes. All of the food is sourced within a 5km radius of the hotel, and is deliciously prepared by Helen and her staff. The dairy comes from Helen’s brother, who has several hundred goats that make daily treks up and down the mountain by the hotel, providing a lovely soundtrack as they pass by. As someone who loves cheese, this might have been my favorite part of the entire stay! The staff, including Pamela and Chloe, were delightful, sociable, and so helpful with whatever we needed. Along with Helen, they made you feel like you were part of the family, and that you were truly a part of the Naxian culture. We stayed for 4 nights in the middle of our Honeymoon and wish we could have been there even longer! We could not recommend ELaiolithos enough to anyone looking for a unique adventure in one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean.

Forget Olive Garden and their mediocre food. Here, at Ellaiolithos you are treated like family. True to Greek hospitality and more, Helen and her beautiful staff have created a rustic and luxurious home away from home. From the open dining room and pool is an expansive view of the mountains and valleys meeting sea. There, you can dine upon the freshest food or sip on crafted cocktails while conversing with other guests, Helen, and/or staff, trading stories and tips on how to best enjoy the charm of Naxos. When your day’s adventures are over, fall into a rested sleep on some of the most comfortable beds my body has ever laid upon. So sad our trip to Naxos and ELaiolithos is over, but we will be back!

We ended three weeks in Greece by staying at this remarkable small resort located in the hills above the city of Naxos. It was the perfect place to unwind and escape crowds. It is surrounded by charming villages, beautiful views, and hiking trails. We were treated to delicious farm-to-table food and creative cocktails, some of the best we had on the whole trip. We were greeted by Helen, owner and charming host. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The resort is eco-friendly and a welcome mix of modern facilities in a traditional, rustic area. If we are lucky enough to return to Greece, ELaiolithos will definitely be one of the first places we book. We had a wonderful time.

Upon our arrival we were amazed of how beautiful the resort was. We were greeted by a wonderfully friendly hotel team. Pamela carried our (much too heavy) suitcase to our beautiful suite. The views from the resort were gorgeous! You look accross tens of thousands ancient olive trees to Mount Zeus and the Aegean Sea beyond. The vibe of the resort is welcoming and chill. Helen, the resort owner, was wonderful in taking personal attention making sure you are comfortable and ((OMG) VERY WELL FED! We’ve never tasted food like this! Everything was organically grown on the estate. From the delicious vegetables, pork, lamb, to the amazing greek salad (with homemade local goat cheese). The included homemade organic breakfast crepes with apricot jam were so much better than the commonplace buffet breakfasts at other hotels. I personally requested a plant forward diet and she happily accommodated my request. Our room was divine. Beautifully decorated in Greek art and furnishings with a very comfortable king bed. Because we are higher up in the mountain there is a wonderful breeze that comes through the room at night. I know this review seems “over the top,” but I assure your if you stay here this unique hotel experience will be a highlight of your trip. Like it was for us! Love it!

Our adventure for our 35th Anniversary began on May 30th. Our stay at Elaiolithos began on June 1st. We stayed here for 4 days. Helen, Pamala and Cloe, made us feel like family. The rooms were perfect with a large shower, the pool was outstanding and the food was out of this world. Helen made sure that we knew where to go for each day of our stay. We even met her whole family. I would recommend Elaiothos to anybody wanting to visit Greece. This resort is located on the island of Naxos.

What an amazing stay at Elaiolithos! The owner, Helen, ensured that every detail of our stay was perfect. The food was the best on the island and each dish was made to order! The rooms were amazing- each with a perfect view of the mountains of Naxos. It is located up in the mountains of Naxos- away from the noise and crowds of the town. Each room is designed for your comfort and needs- no detail was overlooked. Helen is a professional chef and the homemade breakfasts and dinner were amazing. She gave us great travel recommendations- she always called ahead to make sure the owner of the place we were exploring took good care of us. I would highly recommend this hotel for a perfect- and personalized- stay in Naxos- or stop in for dinner while you are exploring the island.

ELaiolithos is the jewel in the crown of Naxos. This exclusive mountain retreat is reserved for a few discerning travellers. It is not for everyone - which may be one of its main attractions. Indeed we met interesting like-minded fellow guests. Yet expect the unexpected. Certainly there is much to like here, Starting with its central location on the island (a hire car is highly recommended) you can change beach every day or head for the hiking trails. Solo travellers are welcomed. The hotel is both funky and offbeat and you can easily avoid the madding crowds just by relaxing around the pool or working out in the incredible gym and you’re one with nature in this mountain hideaway. We stayed for 7 nights in the Ariadne & Dionysus suite, most evenings enjoying the farm-to-table fresh food prepared by Helen, the exceptional and eclectic owner and host. Leaving this idyll was difficult. A rare find.

I take into account that it may sound unbelievable but I hope for your sake that you will believe me. We stayed 2 nights at Helena's place and then extended our stay for another night, because we couldn't leave this amazing place. the room is accurate to every detail, decorated with unique style. the whole place is extraordinary , the view is amazing, the surrounding villages are dreamy and that it is not just the most amazing thing here. The most amazing thing is the hospitality we received from the owner of the place. I'm afraid to develop expectations but we received ten star hospitality, with amazing surprises in the form of a yoga class, a massage, an amazing dinner and much more. All the food here is locally produced from the surrounding villages, everything is fresh, delicious. I know it sounds like an invited criticism but it's not, really not. We just feel in the sky. Highly recommended.

We stayed at ELaiolithos for 3 nights during our honeymoon and I wish we had more time here! Accommodations - we stayed in the Helen of Troy room and it was so beautifully decorated. Every corner of the rooms had something interesting to see and the balcony had the most glorious view of the mountain range. The common area has a gorgeous pool and lounge chairs. The restaurant area has beautiful views and all the decor is curated with beautiful local items and artwork. The space is very peaceful and quiet. My husband would want me to add that he loved the gym which is brand new - he used it every day! Food - I cannot say enough good things about the food. The breakfast was fresh and filling and we had several lunches and dinners here as well. I think we tried more than half the menu. The ingredients are all locally sourced and you can taste how fresh and crisp the produce was. The local wine was also a favorite of mine, I couldn’t get enough of it! The host Helen explained where each of the ingredients came from (goat cheese from her brother’s farm, olives from the grove across the street, etc.) Hospitality - Helen and her staff were just incredible. They made us feel like family and we’re always available to us. Helen surprised us with massages and yoga which we loved. She also gave us great recommendations for food and sights. We felt like we got a taste of the beautiful culture of Naxos and we would not have had such an experience without Helen. Location - the hotel is situated about 30 minutes from Naxos town and the beaches. We rented a car and drove up. The drive was an adventure on its own. We saw so many beautiful mountains, farms with free range goats, olive trees, the coast line and marble quarries. The location is perfect for a full Naxos experience. We spent time in Halki, Chora and the beaches. Helen recommended a more private beach which we LOVED. You must ask her about it! Thank you so much Helen, Pamela, and Katerina!
