Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Vanderbilt

Location was 10 minute ride to Broadway. A few minute walk to Music Row. Overall good stay for two days.

Service was good and rooms were pleasant

A bit outdated rooms and facilities, but clean and and good value of money.

We have stayed here multiple times in the past 5-10 years, so we *thought* we knew what we were going to get. It's summer in Nashville, so I'm somewhat ok looking the other way with the building and room feeling humid. The room as a whole was fine; comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, fairly comfy chair & ottoman. The minor things are just confusing and concerning that this once Awesome hotel is trending down. 🚪the key card on the door was busted! Sliding in the card was the MOST FINICKY OF ALL TIME, giving us problems. One time the key card slid all the way in, eating the card. Maintenance came to retrieve the card. No fix was made, we were just told to be careful. 🪟 The sunshades behind the window curtain was janky AF, the left side was down but wouldn't move (the cord had been removed and tucked at the top). All while the right was up without a way to get it down, except to pull it. But when I did that, I realized why they had it up and the electric motor turned off... It didn't go all the way down and was shredded. 💧The sink is backwards, hot water to the right & cool to the left. 🌡️ The thermostat was broken. While the room was kept cool, it was uncomfortably cool with it being humid. It was humid enough that the furniture had a tacky feel to it. Did the room work for us, yes. Were all the small things adding up make us consider that our next trip will be booked elsewhere, also yes.

Check in could have been better. Gal that checked us in wasn't the most personable. Had to ask for assistance to pay for the parking and she acted as though we were inconveniencing her. We also misunderstood her about the complimentary water upon check in. After a 12-hour car ride, we were a bit tired. We thought she said help yourself to a drink from the beverage display. We picked a beer and a water, and she bite our head off and very rudely said, "I said the water is complimentary, not the BEER. She is not the one you should have checking in your customers. Suggestion for the parking, when people are checking in, just ask if we'd like to add the parking to our room. Much more convenient for your customers. Only other complaint was when they did stop in to clean the room, they didn't leave enough linens. Only left one washcloth for the two of us. They never refilled the body wash which they should be checking every time they clean a room. It would be nice if they at least stopped in and checked the coffee/tea on a daily basis and keep that replenished. There were two of staying in the room and there was only enough coffee for 3 cups. Again, inconvenient to call every time we out of something as basic as that.
