Stayed as a family in May for a weekend getaway. With a toddler we booked so that we could spend the day in their heated pool (as advertised). Because I know this is a new hotel, I called them the day before the booking to confirm that the pool was heated and they confirmed that it was. So you could imagine my disappointment to arrive and the pool was FRIGID. Guest relations officer came to speak with me and eventually let me know that the pool is only heated ON REQUEST, after which it takes 4 hours to heat. Not only is this "policy" senseless, it is written nowhere on the website or elsewhere at the hotel and it took 30 mins for even the Guest Relations Officer to figure that out herself. There was even another guest at the pool who told me she requested the pool to be heated the day before and it was not heated. All in all, what a disappointment, not to mention completely false advertising. We were unable to use the pool - which was the whole POINT of booking the night. The Guest Relations Officer "guaranteed" that the pool would be heated in the morning, yet it was just as cold, and she was of course no where to be found the next day. In the end the pool is nice to look at - but unusable. Other instances of false advertising: in-room pillow menu (there was none, and the pillows were uncomfortable), 24 hours housekeeping (also false, I called in the evening for another pillow and they told me housekeeping is closed at this time). I reported all these failures to the front desk at checkout and the receptionist became quite easily confused/overwhelmed(?), offered no explanation and took no notes. He promised to "get back to" me - words as empty as the hotel's online description - as no surprise, we never heard back. You can make a beautiful hotel but what is it worth if the service is poor? Staff seem pleasant enough but seem untrained and clueless regarding troubleshooting. Me, I wasted what was supposed to be a pleasant family day at the hotel, and was offered a "sorry about that" in exchange. The hotel seems to be nicely decorated but don't bet on services being offered as advertised (even if you call and confirm in advance) and don't bet on anyone there being able to resolve issues.
