Banyan Retreat is tucked approximately 4 hours away from Noida near the jungles of Jim Corbett park. An unassuming cozy retreat with 90 odd mix of cottages rooms and villas. A cozy place for small events and weddings but the property is screaming for an upgrade. The two parks facing cottages and rooms get decked up beautifully for functions and the event team is fairly active. The furniture used - sofa chairs etc - however is badly maintained and has started to give way and breaking from sides. Food is decent, but may be spicy for my foreigner colleagues and ones from south of India, and presentation is also just above average. Cutlery also needs a revisit. The rooms especially need a re look as some, despite being new, stink of dead rats from badly designed septic tanks. The new block has seepage issues which makes it worse. The staff is old and hired on demand as they have little understanding of hospitality. Room cleaning is “on demand” only and the housecleaning guys seem to be learning on the job. A great venue for coziness and economy for a well knit function that can be better with some upgrade and investments.
