Hotel Altmünchen by Blattl

They put us in an attic room where it is 40 degrees Celsius (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit), and there is no AC. This is uninhabitable, and all they tell me is that they are “fully booked” (I booked our room months ago) and they don’t even have a fan for us. This is completely unacceptable and they have zero customer service, and nobody able or willing to help us.

On our round trip through Germany we booked in advance two rooms in this hotel. Considering the fact it was the most expensive one on our trip I like to summarize the following: + The bed was really good. We slept very well - It was very loud from the road (party on the other side of the street, fire fighters main station on the road) not their fault - The rooms do not look like how it is presented on the provided pictures. In one room very old bath room. In the room itself a good wooden floor. + In our room the bath was new. The floor in the sleeping room with an old carped covered. - The room service was bad: we had to ask for toilet paper. The shower gel was empty and not refilled. The staff was able to understand English, German or French. No reaction on a good morning etc. - The initial breakfast we took in the hotel. For the second and the third we left the hotel (even we already paid for it). I do not expect a huge and overfilled buffet, because I do not like food-waste. But for 15 euro I expect the availability of fresh bread, a good coffee and some soft-cheese and fruits. The bread was hard, one little soft cheese. I refilled the empty water carafe. The coffee machine in use was for home use. After I finished my breakfast we got a Cappuccino from the really friendly staff. She was forced to deal with bad technology. Sorry, that's the fact. For breakfast chose Trachtenvogl or Madam Anna Ekke (both pretty close) and you pay less for much more quality!

We stayed here during yet another wave of COVID while some of the sole brave travelers to Germany from the US. The location is great - very central, a 10 minute walk from central Munich and easy to get on the subways/trains. The hotel itself is pretty bare bones. The elevator is a 1 person elevator (they even have a sign that warns it will shake!). The room leaves a lot to be desired but has all the basics - I mean it's always some sort of sign when a hotel bathroom has all in one handsoap/conditioner/shampoo right? The staff I found generally unfriendly and unhelpful. It was a cold night our first night there and I went down to the reception to ask for an extra blanket where the man working promptly replied "You're asking this now, at 10pm?" .... So we probably got what we paid fo but I think you can probably do better for the price range. I'm frankly surprised this has a 4 star review on TripAdvisor. But once again if you don't care about amenities etc. and don't plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel - the location itself is perfect for exploring.

hier wurden wir sehr nett empfangen und jeder Mitarbeiter war nie aufdringlich, einfach nur nett und freundlich! Unser Zimmer war groß und stilvoll eingerichtet. Corona bedingt fiel das Frühstück zu früher etwas spartanischer aus. Aber absolut ausreichend.
