Very old hotel and dated hotel away from Montreux in dire need of renovation. Gets very hot in summer as there’s no cooling facility. Staff are very snobby and unhelpful. My room wasn’t cleaned on several occasions and I had to notify them daily to clean. There was dust and food crumbs, etc on the furniture, hair in the bathroom, dirty sink, etc. I asked to speak to the manager(who is also the hotel owner) twice about the issue with cleanliness and she refused to see me claiming she was “busy.” Meanwhile, she was constantly around the hotel giving me death stares as if to say “How dare you complain.” Her total disregard about this issue speaks volumes about the staff’s attitude to customer satisfaction. It’s ironical that on the hotel site she claims her family will give you a warm welcome yet could not be bothered to speak to a paying customer about the issues I was having with cleaning. Staff in general (restaurant staff) are very snobby and choose and pick who to serve with respect. Restaurant staff (males) are extremely aggressive especially the Maitre De (not the thin tall one - the thin tall Maitre De is very agreeable) policing guests were to sit often refusing us tables of our choice despite the restaurant being empty . Whilst the female restaurant staff are friendly, one of them stopped me from opening a bottle of water on the terrace as they “were closed” and ordered me to go into the breakfast bar to use an already opened bottle. Very bizarre attitude. The reception staff were very lovely and kind. The chef is also very good. He makes the best madeleines. However, due to the aggressive nature of the male restaurant staff, I never had dinner at the hotel. Hotel is also inconvenient for travel to Montreux as you need to take the bus and train into the city. These services sometimes run late so beware. I will not be returning to this hotel ever.
