One person operation at front desk. Not welcoming a guest when I checked in. I asked for quiet room if it's available, but she said, "You came in early, (yes, I was there at 1:30 pm on Sunday, September 1st) you have to wait till 3 pm to get a quiet room", also told me there is only "one clean room" available it facing to major street, Atlantic Blvd, all other rooms are dirty. She treaded me with very unprofessional manner. No eye contacts, no instructions were given, even though I mentioned I love this hotel that's why I stay here whenever I come to this area, but she did not say "a word". This was my 3rd or 4th time staying at this hotel in a year. If I were a manager, I will NOT keep her at guess service. She represented Marriott very badly. When I checked out at 10 a.m. next day, a person (gentleman) from front desk greeted with a big smile with great attitude. It's a big different between two front desk employees at this hotel. There is a brand-new hotel across the street (holiday Inn) just opened a few months ago and offering a same price, so I will be staying there instead next time. Goodbye! Residence Inn at Monterey Park.
