Ocean Surf Resort

Montauk’s best kept secret! Low key, not fussy, but totally redone rooms. They keep the pool open through Columbus Day - super heated - and the viewing deck is awesome with cushioned lounge chairs. Very easy to get down to the beach - no steep steps or high decks to climb down. It’s a very small place so not a lot of crowds anywhere. Location is perfect. Rooms are tight, but we spend all of our time outside. Absolutely love it here.

This was an older beachfront property, so my expectations were set accordingly. This was literally steps away from the ocean and the room faced the water. The bed was comfortable and i slept well. The front desk manager was super nice and helpful. After check-in, they text you a door code which is good for the length of stay - no keys. Housekeeping - the bathroom was filthy. I did inform the manager when I was leaving. However, I see this exact same issue was noted on a prior review - so they need a new cleaning crew, as this is an ongoing concern. I made some pictures of the bathroom, but decided to not post them.

What a great discovery! I had a meeting in Southampton and decided to stay overnight in Montauk. With July 4th, very little was available, but I got the last ocean Queen. Very reasonably priced. Smack dab on the ocean, and a quick walk to town, this motel has all amenities - a real coffee maker, full sets of silver, glassware and plates, a microwave, and a great selection of furniture, with a big flat screen TV. It's the ONLY motel in Montauk that has all this. My room was immaculate. OK, perhaps the paint could use a touch up here and there, and new curtains but who cares? Staff was super pleasant and accommodating. I've stayed at a lot of places in Montauk over the years, including the very high end. NONE of them has the live-in amenities and furniture that Ocean Surf Resort does. Bed was quite comfortable, and all linens were stylish. The owners have put a lot of careful thought into this place and it shows. I'll be back!

If you are planning a trip in your early 20s with your college friends do not come here. The hotel gave us a problem with everything. The staff was rude and the entire time we were nothing but respectful (and I mean that) my friends caught one of the managers peeking thru the window in my room when I was sleeping one night also

Very friendly welcome and helpful check-in. Code to room worked well. Pool was nice except for all the screaming children. Location is close to town and a 30 minute walk from the LIRR. Unfortunately there were multiple long black hairs on the bed, more hairs in the shower, on the bathroom walls. Random plastic strap thing on the floor which to me says no sweeping or cleaning of the floor was done between guests. There was orange stuff in the bath corner too, likely left over shampoo and also sand in the bath from the last guest. The bed sheets made me very itchy.
