When you encounter a hotel like this one, you wonder if Marriott even cares about its brand. I've stayed at Marriotts across the world. This is the worst Marriott property I've ever encountered. The staff tries to be helpful, but the property just hasn't been maintained. When we arrived, we were put in a building that had a rug propping open the door. Something should've clicked then. We removed the rug and went to the car to unload. Coming back, we discovered that our key wouldn't open the building door. Hence, the rug propping the door open. The night clerk tried to find an old fashioned key to open the building door. No luck. Eventually, another guest wandered out and we were able to collect what we'd put in the room already and move to another building. From reading reviews online, the door issue has been going on for YEARS. Can you imagine if a fire broke out and someone's child or pet were trapped in a hotel building that can't be unlocked from the outside? Could you sleep well at night knowing anyone has access to your hotel? Why hasn't Marriott addressed this huge, glaring liability? We moved to another building. The room was just awful. It smelled of dampness. Everything in the room was damp. The fridge was covered with rust. The towels were dirty. I could go on and on. We slept for 6 hours and left. On our way out, the entrypad to our room stopped working and we had to get the manager to let us in so we could finish loading up the car. This hotel is tired, and it looks like Marriott hasn't been by in years to see the deterioration. It's sad. We're Marriott members because the hotels are usually reliably decent. This has broken our trust.
