At the beginning, the name of this hotel was La Canonica. Recently, his name ias San Lorenzo because it is located on San Lorenzo street. I was here in September with I was here with the tour operator Christian Tour. The hotel is a beautiful property, located on a hill with a panoramic view of the sea and Vesuvius, but very far from the train station and port. By bus one way, about 45'. The swimming pool and terrace are beautiful, with a fantastic view, but in the day when there was a wedding, I did not have access to this terrace. Our room was spacious, clean, good beds, quality linen, but it did not have a big wardrobe with shelfs for clothes, it had no balcony and had a view of the most ugly part of the hotel, towards some tubes and in the morning, when I opened the window, not fresh air came in, but the smell of food from the kitchen came in. The hotel was not occupied to his capacity, there were also free rooms with a view of the sea/Vesuvius, but because we were coming through Christian Tour, we did not receive them. The staff, in general, kind (especially the one at the reception, they helped me with useful information), except for one man with glasses, the supervisor, who was not at all friendly and who forbade us to eat in the dining room with a view of the sea and Vesuvius. We were eating in a room with the windows towards the beautiful dining room , covered with curtains, so that we could not see anything, like in my pictures posted here. The hotel is a bit isolated. It is necessary to go by bus from the hotel to Castellammare (where there are the port, the station and beach) and reverse, and this is an inconvenience ( to much hours on the way, aprox.90 minutes/day). The bus rarely runs, and in weekend, Sundays is a tragedy. It would be ideal for the hotel to have a shuttle bus. I appreciate as to be a discrimination the fact that not all tourists have access to the dining room with the amazing view of the sea and Vesuvius. We, those who came through the Christian Tour, were forbidden. When I was there, there were aprox. 3 foreign tourists who stayed only aprox.2 days at this hotel, and I saw them eating in that dining room, then, the dining room was unoccupied by anyone. I regret that, at the breakfast, we could not enjoy the wonderful view from the dining room, as it is posted in the pictures displayed on the hotel website. The food was the same throughout the stay (8 days). Specifically, breakfast buffet, poor (only: boiled eggs, one sort ham and one sort cheese, only tomatoes, pastry, bread, yogurt and flakes, juice machine, coffee machine, tea), and for dinner, fix menu, two courses of food, one of which, daily, pasta and dessert (cake or a plate with a slice of 3 different fruits ). Salads and fruits were missing. In the room, there was a mug for boil, I found about 6 tea bags (for 2 people). There was no coffee. Therefore, I appreciate that there are no facilities for preparing coffee in the room. The mini bar is extremely
