Joshua Grindle Inn

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our west coast road trip. The Joshua Grindle Inn was everything we hoped it would be - gorgeous house, fabulous hosts, delicious breakfasts and old world charm - we fell in love with Mendocino! We stayed in Cypress North Room - spacious and spotlessly clean with the comfiest bed - we just wish we could stay longer! Thank you to our hosts Ken & Kate - you have something very special here! We have been to Mendocino many times over the years but this is the first time we’ve stayed here at Joshua Grindle. It could not have been better in any way. The grounds are beautiful, our cottage north was comfy and cozy and the big bed was lovely. Outside of our window are 4 giant centinal trees. We could also see the sunset through these windows. Ken and Kate, the owners were lovely and welcoming and there is nothing we wish were different. Continental breakfast with homemade granola, scones and banana bread along with fruit and yogurt was perfect to start our day. Because Mendo is a small village, we could walk everywhere. We will definitely return. Thanks Ken and Kate for a perfect getaway.

We stayed in the 2nd floor Watertower room. It was very comfortable. It is interesting to see how the exterior geometry of the building shows up in subtle ways from the inside. The location is just a short walk to get to the main commercial part of town. The staff was very friendly and thoughtful. We would certainly stay here again if our travel plans bring us back to Mendocino.

Cozy lovely place to stay! I found this second floor of the water tower such a unique and well appointed little spot - it truly feels like a tree house stay! Perfect for the solo traveler or a couple. I would absolutely stay again. The word burning fireplace was lovely - they provide a log for each night so I popped it in before I fell asleep and it was just perfect

We stayed at The Joshua Grindle Inn In Mendocino for one night during our trip around Northern California and Oregon, we wished we could have stayed longer but we were on a tight schedule. After a long drive from Trinidad and through the Avenue of the Giants we arrived during in the afternoon. We were warmly greeted by the owner who gave us a brief history of the Inn. He then showed us to our room The Library. Our room had everything we needed. Mendocino is a beautiful place with a rugged coastline. There are plenty of places to eat. We enjoyed our breakfast which included home made banana bread and lovely scones. A wonderful place to stay.

This B&B is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. We could spot the ocean from our second-floor room, the bed was comfortable, and the fireplace came with a 4-hour firelog. Plus, it was an easy 2-block walk into town. I highly recommend staying here!

Very gracious service all around,. This is a historic inn, very well kept, very clean and welcoming! Continental breakfast was very good (hard boiled eggs on request!) - the PCH is very close by, but one does not really hear it at all. A lovely stay.

This bed and breakfast was adorable! The property was beautiful with great views. The location was the perfect walking distance to downtown mendocino. We stayed in the treeview room and it was so cute and spacious with all the amenities we needed in the room. Breakfast was delicious and the homemade scones were by far my favorite part. Breakfast included a beautiful assortment of fresh cut fruits, delicious homemade scones and homemade granola, yogurts and juices. The innkeepers were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.

Been going here for years and years. We love the quiet, the tasty breakfasts and the delightful couple working their tails off to keep it all in order! Location at edge of town just right. Lovely for walking and exploring the area. Highly recommend!
