An enjoyable weekend break at Solana. The place is well positioned in the center of Mellieha to explore the town, v. nice view from the rooftop (attached a pic) that they also highlight as instagram-worthy. I rated the location 4/5 because of the relatively minor difficulty to find close-by parking as you need to be careful due to limited hours, but I learnt after that the hotel offers limited parking spots against payment. Cleanliness and service both rated an excellent 5/5. The facilities were good, again they didn't merit a 5/5 only because of a couple of small issues: you can experience a relatively long wait for the 2 lifts (used by guests and staff) at peak times since the hotel consists of two connected buildings, the gym needs a spruce-up as the multi-use machine needs a good oiling and the treadmill's arm cushions easily came unstuck, and the rooftop pool water was slightly murky on Sat afternoon and Sun morning. Other than our studio apartment was a comfortable fit for a family of 4, that included a well-equipped kitchenette that we used on the second night when the kids fancied an evening in after a long day. And nice to see once again the old-school complimentary sewing needle and thread, as well as a good sized bathtub. Tea and coffee freebies were present in abundance in the room. Breakfast was delicious and they certainly got the bacon, sausages, eggs, pastry and yogurt right.
All in all, a well-priced worthy consideration if you're staying in Mellieha.

Because we discovered after check in, in the following morning, this hotel was located right beside the construction site, our stay resulted in an unrelaxed one - nightmare, due to the big noises and powerful vibrations through the floors & walls of our room, from very early morning till late. Trip customer service staff were friendly and tried to help us but the hotel manager was untruthful by refusing to admit the poor quality of our stay. She said the hotel management was not to be responsible for the noises and it was out of their control although there were plenty of vacant rooms on the other side of the hotel buildings, which were supposed to be less affected by the construction, activities, but it seemed that we booked through Trip.com at a competitive price and our room was allocated in the most affected section of the hotel building. Rooms and other facilities were dusty due to the construction activities.

Amazing luxury suite room! With complimentary water, wine and fruits. The view of the city and sea from the room was great. The terrace was huge! We had a dinner at one of the hotel restaurants and enjoyed it a lot, had a couple massage at nataraya spa done by anoop and Paulina - it was very relaxing. One of the best massages I have had so far!
The rooftop pool is a plus, however it was really hard to find a spot to lie down as it was full of people, we ended up spending our afternoon sitting in a chair rather than actually sunbathing. Overall, great experience!

Sehr schön und großzügig eingerichtetes Zimmer. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich und konnte bei allen aufkommenden Fragen weiterhelfen. Der Preis ist für das was man bekommt definitiv gerechtfertigt.

Gros chantier coller à l’hôtel qui commence a 7h du matin à la disqueuse et aux marteaux burin qui fait trembler tous les murs , la baignoire était fendu en deux impossible de prendre un bain , le frigo complètements givrer qui fessait un bruit infernale obliger de le débrancher , la chasse d’eaux casser , heureusement que nous somme rester que une nuit…

Tínhamos reservado um quarto com base nas fotos deste site. Recebemos um e-mail para atualizar nosso quarto para um com varanda, o que fizemos e pagamos a mais. O quarto era horrível, super escuro e antiquado, sem luz natural e a "varanda" era compartilhada com outro quarto onde eles tinham vista direta para a nossa cama, o que significa que não podíamos manter as cortinas abertas (foto adicionada para mostrar isso). Fedia a sever e os lençóis cheiravam como se não tivessem sido secos de maneira adequada (como úmido e mofado).
Reclamamos e nos ofereceram outro quarto, mas apenas para o 3º dia de nossa estadia. Nos pediram para arrumar nossas coisas pela manhã e eles farão a mudança. Bem, chega a manhã e ninguém sabia da mudança de quarto ... Então eles disseram que isso só pode ser feito o mais cedo possível às 11. Fomos para a piscina, voltamos por volta das 14 e eles ainda não tinham o quarto pronto para nós! Só quando fiquei chateado o gerente começou a descobrir se o quarto pode ser dado neste momento. Não recebemos nenhum reembolso ou qualquer tipo de cortesia pela estadia. Muito desapontado e considerando que esta foi uma estadia muito cara, torna o comportamento deles ainda mais nojento.
Enviamos a eles outro e-mail sobre isso depois, mas ninguém voltou para nós.
Nunca precisei reclamar de um hotel antes e espero nunca mais ter que fazer isso. Isso ainda faz meu estômago revirar.

BE WARNED. Building work being carried out within hotel between main building and annex. Starts at 7am with the hammering/removal of the wooden frames around the previous days concrete. Crane is directly over hotel so unless you are out all day your stay will be effected by the noise of the building works especially if you use the rooftop pool or your balcony. Breakfast was adequate but staff slow to restock so drinks dispensers & milk etc constantly running out. Quite a few school children & their associated noise, pushing of all the buttons in lifts when they got out & running around corridors plus take over of pool etc. Entertainment was in main entrance so getting in & out hotel during performances was challenging. Staff polite & friendly but unable to do anything about the noise ( suggest investing in earplugs for each room instead of the sewing kit, shoe cleaner, shower caps & toiletries)
