Knock House Hotel

I'm a regular visitor and it was my first visit this year, my first since September 2023. It was excellent as per usual and I now I expect it to be excellent at this point as I consider it normal. Just like last year it wasn't 5 stars, it was 5 + stars. Everything was excellent and being greeted by first name by the "old reliables" that have been there years is unique and not what you would get everywhere. Such service is priceless. Thanks again for a fantastic stay and I will try to return again later in the summer

The rooms are a bit dated, our room had a notice on the wall, keep shower curtain inside the bath, pity that there was no curtain supplied. On the 1st morning we we were offered the full Irish, the fry arrived with one of everything, right down to the black and white pudding, except it was half of a piece of each, mean or what, my fried egg appeared half cooked. So the next morning knowing what way the fry would arrive I requested scrambled eggs but it arrived it came with a fried egg and when challenged the waitress maid no effort to offer to go and bring a portion of scrambled eggs. Definitely not a Full Irish.

Check-in was seamless, with the receptionist Leticia being particularly helpful. My room was simple but spotless and comfortable. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly and professional. Overall, it was a lovely stay in a comfortable and friendly hotel

I have just returned from a pleasant stay at the Knock House Hotel in Knock Co Mayo. The hotel is very warm and welcoming and the staff very kind and helpful. There was one big problem with this hotel and that was the lack of vegan food. They only cater for carnivores. Prior to booking I was assured that vegan food would be served but that was not the case. Upon the intervention of the General Manager I had one decent vegan meal in four. The other three were a disgrace to any hotel. Imagine cutting up a potato into lumps and sticking it in the microwave. That is what I received when I asked for some boiled potatoes with a salad that I ordered. Naturally I couldn't eat it as it tasted like chewing gum. I feel that the catering staff put no effort whatsoever into making me decent food. I was just a nuisance to them. I paid the same rate as the rest of the people staying in the hotel so should have received proper food. The breakfasts were fine, it was the dinners that were a disaster. Vegan food is the easiest food in the world to make. Simple dishes like red lentil dahl could be made in minutes as could chick peas stews etc. Each of them could be served with rice. I was surprised to find out today that this hotel primarily owned by the Catholic Church.

Very pleasant stay. Extremely comfortable and cosy on what was a very cold time of year. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel cleanliness was 100% Restaurant for Breakfast was very busy and had to wait a while before getting a Table and we were booked for a set time, but would not put me off staying there again. Very convenient if visiting Knock Shrine.

Really comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting within the grounds of the basilica and shrine. Evening mass at the church. Excellent meal choices. Very friendly and professional staff. Shuttle available to train station and airport. Would definitely stay again.

Good quality accommodation safe easy to park it’s winter and rooms were warm

I have just arrived home from a brilliant 4 night stay at the knock house hotel spirit & soul holiday, James Kilbane was the group leader.It was brilliant the food was excellent every day.The bedroom was kept very clean & was very cosy.The activities were great we had 3 day tours which were all very enjoyable & we also had meditations & a game of bingo.James also sang & played guitar in the evenings & this was great entertainment the 4 night break was very enjoyable & the value for money for this trip was very good. I have booked the next spirit &, soul holiday in March & really looking forward to it. I highly recomend the spirit & soul 4 night holiday.

The location of the hotel is excellent for a visit to the Shrine. The lack of washcloths in the bathroom is unusual for us Americans. The shower tub is uncomfortable. With the shower curtain wraparound you like a mummy with shower in use. Perhaps a curved shower curtain rod could help.
