Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff were lovely, helpful and really knowledgable about the area. Food was delicious - huge portions so you won’t go hungry and catered for dietary requirements perfectly. Carlos our guide really made the experience even better. We fit so many activities into just a few days it’s all very well organised. Thanks for a great stay!

Imagine being in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest, off the grid, surrounded by nature and a family that takes care of you. We had the best possible experience, it went beyond all our expectations. From the first moment you are welcomed into the Amak family. Every activity is simply breathtaking and unique experiences. Of course, the food is mindblowing. Every course is made with local ingredients to perfection. You really get to know how people live in la selva, as well as discover the beauty of its nature.

This is a very magical place. The food was amazing the guides were friendly and very helpful. We saw and did everything and it was by far one of the best experiences. Our guide Carlos was amazing, having grown up there he showed us all the secrets and told us all the stories. The staff at the lodge was amazing and very pleasant. There is magic made in that kitchen!! The food was amazing and I could not have asked for a better experience!

We spent 3 nights at Amak, and this was the perfect length of stay. You arrive your first day in time for lunch and head out on your first adventure into the jungle shortly thereafter. After each delicious meal comes another adventure. Carlos, a descendent of the local indigenous tribe, leads the excursions and provides unique insights and knowledge along the way. Adventures included piranha fishing, a night walk with flashlights in search of giant spiders and jungle critters, an amazing tour of Monkey Island, a pre-dawn ride up the river in search of the elusive pink dolphins, a jungle hike to find towering trees of old Amazonia, ayahuasca vines, flora, and fauna, a visit to an indigenous village, a nighttime bonfire with music and native dancing, and a visit to a local farm to help replant the rainforest. - All of this in just three and a half days!

Had the best time in Amak, they organize a lot of program around the visit and the food is amazing! We had every noon and evening the small courses mostly sourced from local suppliers. The staff is very welcoming and although not all speak English it was easy to follow on tots etc. The huts were basic (the bed was excellent) but adequate for the visit. I slept very well and saw a lot of insects, birds and monkeys.

Amak is a really beautiful place. My husband and I had a great time in the lodge. Carlos was a wonderful guide, Leo’s cooking was amazing, all the employees were great. Iquitos is a great place to visit. Definitely recommend this place. La Isla de los Monos is one of my favorite places in the world!

Our stay at Amak Iquitos was incredible. Since they picked us up from the hotel, very punctual, until the return, very friendly and willing to give us an unforgettable experience. The team in charge of the meals and the stay at the lodge were exceptional, breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent, they always gave us an explanation of what we were going to eat. The guide service with Don Carlos and Don Mame was one of the best I have seen, always answering our questions and telling us about their experiences, very patient and professional at all times. Thanks to the team in charge of accommodation (including restaurant), the super guides and transportation, without you I am sure the experience would not have been the same. I cannot say enough good things about Amak. It's location is perfect, you get a real Amazon jungle experience staying there. You experience all the sites and sounds that you hope for. The hut was very comfortable. They were a good size (both sleeping quarters and bathroom), beds were comfortable, and the mosquito nets kept everything out! The staff is absolutely exceptional. The chef made the most delicious food and it was always presented artfully/beautifully. The chef was also very kind and clearly gets a lot of joy from making people happy with her food. Guido was super helpful and fun to be around and talk with. Our guide was Carlos, and he was one of the greatest highlights of our stay. He was kind, fun, and so knowledgeable (he has lived there his entire life and can answer any and all questions you may have). He genuinely cared about making sure everyone got the most out of their time in the jungle while also making everyone feel safe. If you would like to visit the Amazon and have the experience of a lifetime, stay at Amak!
