"A beautiful little place right on the water. Maya Beach is about 30 minutes from Placencia, but it’s quieter and there are plenty of options to eat in walking distance. Even a bowling alley! Jaguar Lanes! Taxis cost about $20 (US) one way to Placencia. But don’t hesitate to take the bus. Very easy and much cheaper. The manager Valesques (sp?) was super sweet and welcoming!"

"Lovely place for adults/couples on the beach. Private cabanas fully stocked with everything you need, king sized beds. Comfortable patios in the shade, lovely lounge chairs on the beach, immaculately groomed white sand beach; 15 min or so from the Village with shops and restaurants, but there are also restaurants close by. The hosts, Michelle and Ed (and their daughter Jessica, who does most of the booking) were super friendly, responsive and fun people to chat with. They have some old coaster bikes you can use and kayaks for mellow days on the water. Highly recommend."
