I found this superb hotel on Trip Advisor. I had booked for 4 nights and was fortunate to be upgraded to a Signature room, with a wonderful view of the golf course and grounds. The room is very spacious with a 6ft bed, beautiful linen and covers. Comfy bed and pillows. Wonderful thick curtains. The sparkling clean bathroom and separate toilet were newly fitted and spotlessly clean. Lots of white fluffy towels and 2 bathrobes/slippers. There were beautiful Elemis products to use. Large selection of tea and coffee supplied in the room. It was special to be able to swim in the stunning pool, every morning, mostly on my own, followed by a sauna or foamy hot tub outside in the Autumn sunshine.

I stayed overnight as a solo guest on a weekend. I felt completely safe whilst at the hotel at all times. I opted to have room service in my room as I wanted some peace and quiet! I did have to go to reception to find out what menu I could choose from but they were helpful and took my order whilst i was there. The food was absolutely delicious, one of the best meals I had ever eaten. I will say however that the portion sizes were small and I was pretty much hungry the entire duration of my stay. The room was spacious and relatively clean. The bathroom was modern and light. I was really impressed by the fact the hotel room was actually warm as I usually find them to be cold upon entry. The hotel was extremely quiet at night and I enjoyed looking over the golf course as the sun set. The breakfast menu was quite limited in my opinion. It was basically cereal, yoghurt, croissants and hot cooked breakfast, which again was nothing extensive. I asked for a plate of bacon, tomatoes, sausage and potatoes and literally recieved a plate of one of each item.. But it was all cooked thoroughly and again was very tasty and well seasoned. Although I didn't ask for much during my stay, I got the impression that nothing was too much to ask for and every staff member I came across were polite and pleasant.

We have stayed at Budock Vean a number of times over the past year, as a family with a young baby and now with a toddler. Budock Vean is the perfect quiet retreat for anyone, the staff are always wonderful, the two ladies on the reception desk cannot do enough to help. The waiting staff in the restaurant are always incredible, and made us feel very welcome - even laying a place for our baby. The hotel has an abundance of character and the fire by the swimming pool is spectacular and very welcoming on a chilly morning. On our most recent visit we made use of the spa, both of us really enjoyed our massages and the ladies in the spa were brilliant. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and both a casual dinner and the formal four course dining option - everything was spectacular. The menu is always brilliant - proper food cooked properly. I highly recommend the four course dinner, with a toddler running around we had it brought to our room - the staff that served the room service were very accommodating as always. We are already planning our next stay, my very fussy husband can't get back to Budock fast enough.

We stayed at August Rock holiday home for my husband's 50th birthday which was wonderful. It was so quiet in the evenings, all that we could hear was an owl. The accommodation was luxurious, very well laid out, comfortable beds and had everything you could need. I loved walking down to the beach every day and we used the pool and spa every day. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, arranging lunches and afternoon tea before our arrival and during our stay. The location is great with lots of walks from the doorstep or lovely places to explore in Cornwall. It was the relaxing break that we needed and we would happily return. Thank you!

Our 15th visit to this quite superb hotel, and we will be back. The location on the Helford River is excellent, with easy public transport links to Falmouth, and close proximity to the South West Coast path. The food in the restaurant is simply brilliant, and the overall ambience of the hotel is wonderfully relaxing.

Stayed here for 6 days on a Bridge/Golf Holiday. A pleasant, somewhat traditional, hotel which, some would say, is in the 'Back of Beyond'! Excellent staff. I understand that the hotel is on the market which could explain why it feels slightly run down. I would consider the 'off the street' price for accommodation here as advertised to be quite expensive.

Yet another perfect stay at Budock Vean. We visit twice a year, and as always we received a warm welcome from the team, especially Anda and Wendell at reception. The rooms are lovely and beds are super comfy; we had a great view over the golf course too. We always look forward to the delicious breakfasts, especially the cooked breakfast and the salmon and scrambled eggs! This hotel is in the perfect location in the stunning Helford Estuary, peaceful yet walking distance to the SW coast path, Glendurgan and Trebah, near to Falmouth, Helford, lots of amazing beaches and so many other attractions. Look forward to seeing you again when we return in May!

Our third year in a row, and BV remains a massive family favourite. A wonderful relaxed/active haven, whether you’re a teenager, an excited pup or a parent needing some chilling time, this hotel always seems to have the right balance across the grounds, the golf course, the pool, the tennis courts or the spa… Added to that, the restaurant is fantastic, the food can be pricy but is absolutely wonderful, and is bettered only by the service (Wendy and Nick in particular - thank you so much for the amazing service!) Another amazing stay - see you next year!!

This is a very comfortable hotel. The food is excellent!! All the staff are courteous and helpful. The beds are very comfortable, and the en-suites are modern! We have had several mini breaks here over the last couple of years and cannot fault anything! Would highly recommend a stay here.
