Gala-Gala Eco Resort(Gala Gala Eco Resort)

We always stay at Gala Gala Eco Lodge when we we visit Ponta D’Ouro. The lodge has a charming, relaxed feel with a variety of accommodation from reeded ensuite rooms to forest cabins and more. We love the relaxed vibe, the cats and dogs that make it feel like home. The breakfasts are lovely and any special requests are easily taken care of. Great coffee! The water is top notch and the wifi is free! A huge thank you to Bev, Mandy, Adrik, Tony, Chico, Elzia and all the kitties and doggies for making our stay so memorable, relaxing and fun! It’s such a special place with such incredible people!

We stayed a week in this resort while diving in Ponta do Ouro. The resort is located close to the coast and the beaches (about one mile away). The rooms are simple with no AC and with mosquito nets over the beds. There is not much intimacy since the bathroom and toilet are next to the bedroom with no isolating door. The breakfast was OK with a few options to choose from. The price is definitely attractive.

I can't say enough about Gala Gala. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our time there. Bev, Elzia, and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and helpful. They have tons of super fun activities that they will help you organize and you'll never feel like you're getting ripped off as is the case with a lot of "resort" type of activities. We went deep sea fishing one of the days and caught enough fish to have lunch with the whole staff which was a great experience. Its a very family friendly place and the rooms are great. The communal kitchen was well supplied and the internet worked well. The breakfasts in the morning were fantastic. We even took advantage of the spa which was lovely. Great massages! Again, the whole experience was extremely enjoyable. Thank you Gala Gala for an incredible time in beautiful Ponta do Ouro!

Unfortunately I would not return or recommend. The overall vibe is fine however when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness it is below satisfactory. The rooms are extremely dark and uninviting when entering. Floor mats dirty. The inners of cushions and mattresses on the beds are old, stained. I slept with a towel (my own) over the cushion. Lacks that fresh linen feeling of a new room. The emphasis is on eco however one can still present the rooms even in a eco friendly look and manner. Breakfast was stock standard, no vegan options or just a milk alternative ? The main area pillow covers all look and feel like they need a good wash. So much potential but little effort.

Oh, what an awesome place! The best staff delivering high quality, friendly service. The atmosphere is very relaxed AND relaxing. Very clean, especially for a sandy area. Location is great - far enough from everything to be quiet, but also accessible enough that it is easy to get to the buzz where the markets and restaurants are. Everything was easy - we needed that! I will definitely be back.

We arrived at Ponta do ouro in the hottest February of Mozambique. At this time, it coincides with the Chinese Spring Festival, and we are here for scuba diving. The resort is very friendly, and every staff member encountered here is very enthusiastic in providing service, which is enough for divers. The resort has rescued nearly 20 cats and dogs, and their names can be found in the resort's manual. It should be noted that the resort is far from the seaside, and there is a free transfer itinerary to the diving shop. However, if it is outside the designated itinerary, you need to walk 2km by yourself, which may be a bit hot in summer. It is recommended that the resort increase some transfer arrangements. In addition, when we were leaving, we encountered other guests asking about the path to the beach, and they were clearly confused. They suggested that the resort could label the main attractions and beaches in the central hall. Overall, choosing galagalagala was a pleasant decision and provided us with a perfect resting place for our Mozambique trip. I would like to recommend it to everyone (of course, it is recommended to have a slightly cooler and faster season for a better experience). 我们是在莫桑比克最热的2月份到达的ponta do ouro。此时恰逢中国春节，而我们来到这里是为了水肺潜水。度假村非常友善，在这里遇到的每位工作人员都很热情地提供服务，对于潜水员来说足够了。度假村救助了接近20多只猫猫狗狗，可以在度假村的手册中看到他们的名字。 需要提示的是，度假村距离海边较远，去潜店有免费的接送行程，但如果自己走需要2km，对于夏天来说有些晒，建议度假村可以增加一些接驳的安排。 另外，我们临走时遇到其他客人询问关于去海滩的路径，对方显然有些迷茫，建议度假村可以在中央大厅标注下主要的景点和海滩。总的来说，选择galagala是个愉快的决定，给了我们的莫桑比克之旅一个完美的休息地，向大家推荐（当然，建议最好是稍微凉快些的季节，体验会更好）。

We loved our stay at GalaGala so much we extended our stay! The owners, manager and staff all made our stay special. Added bonus was the friendly pets which we loved seeing every day! Our villa was a wonderful space to relax in after spending the day at the beach. We didn’t have a car so enjoyed the 20 minute walk to town/beach or was able to get a ride from the resort. We had a fantastic time once again at Gala Gala Eco Resort. The hospitality at this special place sets the Resort apart and we always feel taken care off and very comfortable. The diving was outstanding. We will be back in February. Thank you to Bev and Mandy.
