Usha Ascot

The hotel is very expensive for what they offer and the staff esp at the reception is very rude. Was charged INR 2000 per night for my child and didn't even take an extra bed. The dinner buffet is almost INR 1000 per night per person with very limited food options. Food is ok too, nothing great. These kind of prices are similar to some 4/5 stars offering in cities. Further when I checked in, the staff was chasing me to book their dinner buffet. The staff at the reception was least bothered, basically their attitude was to just ask for money for everything rather than focusing on the customers experience. There are better hotels in Matheran with much better service, I would not visit again and neither would recommend any of my friends to visit there!

I visited Usha Escot with my family and we were 7 people. We booked a Private Bunglow for 7 persons. The hotel is 20 min walking distance from Matheran train station. There are other options like horse rides, Pulled Rickshaw. Walking is a good option as you pass through the main market and walking is pleasant due to trees on both sides. Hotel entrance is quite good. ***ager Mr. Kishore More is nice person and quite helpful. Hotel staff is also courteous and always there at your service. The property has a swimming pool and it's well ***aged. Food was delicious with option of buffet and Ala cart. For buffet hotel staff serve dishes on table. Only Vegetarian food is served in the Hotel. Hotel have small bar also and serves Chilled Beer and other Hard drinks as well. Overall Usha Escot is perfect stay in Matheran for family. NOT WORTH MONEY. TOO COSTLY. WORST PART IS FOOD AND SERVICE. VERY RELUCTANT TO SERVE THE FOOD PROPERLY IN LUNCH ,INSPITE OF CHARGING SO HIGH RATES. DINNER BUFFET SPREAD IS ALSO TOO SMALL ,IN THE DINNER QUALITY WAS TOO POOR, SEEMS THEY BUYED FROM SOME LOCAL RESTAURANT, TOO OILY AND SPICY AND SMALL MENU. BREAKFAST SPREAD ALSO TOO SMALL . DINING WASH ROOM TOO DIRTY AND SMELLY, CHANCES TO GET INFECTED IF TOUCH THE TAP . ROOM TIDYNESS JUST OK NOT AS PER MONEY THEY CHARGE. POOR WI-FI. WATER JUG AND GLASSES TOO DIRTY AND BROKEN.

I HAVE TRAVELLED IN THE MONTH OF JUNE 2023 FIRST WEEK. AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I HAVE OPTED FULL MEAL PLAN WITH STAY ON SUIT DIRECT BOOKING. MUMBAI TO NERAL TRAIN, THEN LOCAL TAXI TILL DASTURI PARKING POINT AT MATHERAN. THEN HORSES TILL USHA ASCOT. HORSE RIDE LITTLE NEGOTIABLE. TOY TRAIN OPTION WAS THERE BUT VERY LESS FREQUENCY AND MORE TRAVEL TIME. IF YOU WANT TAXIS DIRECT HOME PICKUP AND DROP AVAILABLE FROM DASTURI POINT ONE WAY APPROX INR 2500 . USHA ASCOT IS HAVING 5+ ACRES BIG AREA WITH NICE AMBIENCE , VERY CLEAN ROOMS. WORTH FOR MONEY. SUITES ARE HAVING NICE LOCATIONS AND VIEWS. EVENING POOL SIDE DINNER IS AWESOME IN COOL ATMOSPHERE AND LIVE MUSIC OLD MELODIES. WORTH FOR MONEY SPENT. ONLY ONE NEGATIVE POINT IS NO RANGE FOR JIO SIM AND WI-FI IS SLOW. MIGHT BE THIS IS POSITIVE POINT FOR SOMEONE AS NO CONNECTIVITY IS BETTER FOR COMPLETE ISOLATION FROM CITY RUSH AND WORK ENVIORNMENT.

Wonderful resort ,no frills. You get a fantabulous spa,lovely disc,clean large pool and nature indulgence at a single point.Its wonderful for group of friends or seniors or kids. The people ***aging the property are wonderful.Special call out for Kishore at the reception. Yes food was great and jain version of every item were available.

The location is about 15 minutes from the Matheran station and the entrance 40min walk. Usha Ascot is Pure Veg Resort. The rooms are fairly clean, and the food quality and taste are good. The resort is spacious, so one does not feel crowded and you can enjoy your space. Overall it was an amazing experience!!!

This is a very nice looking hotel in a good position in the trees at Matheran, close to Lake Charlotte. Very few places in the hill station town serve alchohol. We went to have a beer, but decided we have lunch as well which is just 600 rupees. They cannot take payment here on a card that is not registered in India so we were unable to pay. The ***ager went to extraordinary lengths to make sure we had the experience of lunch here. He called out hotel ***ager at MTDC Matheran and made an arrangement that we would pay at out own hotel! We had lunch which was an excellent all you can eat Indian Thali. Then he had the bar open up just so to hat we could enjoy a cold beer and relax in in the cool lounge room. We were treated like VIPs. We walked in out having paid nothing... Purely on trust. It would not happen in the UK! we ***aged to organise paying our hotel ***ager Mr Ravi Patel at MTDC the next day, and he passed it on to Usha Ascott after we left the town.

So we dashed off to Matheran for a quick weekend getaway. We were a group of 5 adults and had booked our rooms at Usha Ascot directly with their Mumbai office. We got a very nice package deal (AP plan- all meals plan B/L/D). We opted for pool facing rooms, which, as per their website are newly renovated and they did appear so. The check-in process was quick and smooth and the front office staff is very polite and helpful. The bathrooms are clean with freshly washed towels and napkins. House keeping is efficient. The food (they serve only vegetarian food) is good with a decent spread. However, I sincerely feel they should include fresh fruits and juice with breakfast. The serving/dining room staff is very good, courteous and efficient. They hold entertainment programs with a live singer (who is really good and knows how to engage and delight the audience) , housie and a dance floor with a DJ. I was not very pleased with the way their swimming pool is maintained. I was not motivated to take a dip. They should work out a way to keep the pool clean and more inviting. They do have a small and cozy bar with a decent collection of a variety of alcohol. We, however, opted for room service for drinks. They also have a spa, which we did not visit hence cannot comment on that. All in all we liked this property and would certainly stay there in the future. P.S. It would be great if they included a refrigerator in their rooms

Had been there for our anniversary for a couple of days. Property is excellent and large , well planned with a big swimming pool in the centre. Location is away from the bustle of the market at the same time not too far off. We had booked a executive deluxe room having a pool facing balcony. But it is useless as u cannot open your glass door and sit there due to the monkey menace.So pool view or no view doesn't really matter.The room was comfortable and large enough for family of 3. The crowd is mostly gujrati and the hotel cuisine, activities etc are catered to the crowd. So if your palate seeks a different taste this one isn't for you. Regarding the food ,it is decent but the spread is limited and needs to be ***aged properly.. the refilling of rotis, dessert were painfully slow and you loose interest with time.. Was fairly satisfied with the stay but would not go again.
