Le Grand Hotel Tazi

I visited this hotel for an evening meal on the recommendation of a local guide. The swimming pool with no water should have been a warning for what was to come. Bland food served with rip off prices in the dark dreary restaurant by unhelpful staff. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel has one of the best positions in Marrakesh. However it has a rundown atmosphere and is not reaching its full potential. The upstairs terrace is lovely for a meal and watching the world go by beneath. but a higher terrace was completely unused from which the views were excellent. My meal of chicken tagine with prunes was a good average and service was polite and professional. The decor is faded early 20th century, very traditional, very Morrocan, but needs an uplift. This place should be so much more vibrant.

We were totally ripped off on the beers and charged the equivalent of £6.5 for a small bottle, when we know others were charged £3 for exactly the same. They did it in such an insulting way whilst trying to insist on a hefty tip. Avoid at all costs.

Regarding my choice of the Tazi Hotel, frankly, it was a wrong choice, due to the mismanagement of the night reception staff, who abuse tourism in the country, in addition to the lack of television, air conditioning and refrigerator, and the presence of insects that scared me. Therefore, I hope that my feedback will be useful to change what can be changed. Best regards

From any point of view, dont get pushed to go there. Scammers cooperate with “STREET GUIDES” scammers. You can find many other places with better prices of food and nobody will rip you of. MEDINA THE WORST AREA. NICE TO WALK AROUND BUT NEVER BUY THERE Anything. And its not true it is only place where you can by a beer.

I landed up in a short, last minute stay at this hotel after the earthquake, when my upcoming booking got cancelled and my previous one ended. The building is super beautiful inside, if a little tatty in places but the people who work there are awful. Firstly, I was not even given a remote for the aircon in peak summer weather. Not that it mattered because it was broken anyway. When I complained, I was given another room with working aircon but no towel or soap etc. I was also told that the hotel could not even give me number to call a taxi when I wanted to leave. The staff pretended not to understand English whenever I asked for info/anything they didn't want help out with. Also, people smoke cigarettes in the communal areas, making them unusable. Lastly, when I eventually managed to organise somewhere else to stay outside of Marrakech, they forgot to give me my passport back when I checked out. I can't find anyway to contact them and I had no plans to go back to Marrakech. Anyway, if you read your reviews, Hotel Tazi, please give me a way to contact you, so I can get my passport back.

The grimest most ghastly restaurant I’ve ever been to. We were looking for a glass of wine and snack and we’re taken to this disgrace of a place by a guide in the medina. Avoid at all costs! I Should have stopped when being taken up the stairs with dirty carpets and mattresses being stored outside of rooms - yuk!

loud music inside the hotel internet NOT working in the rooms ( I checked 3 rooms on 2 different floors) staff NON willing to help or cooperate I decided to leave the hotel in the middle of the night because it was impossible to sleep as well as to get any functioning internet connection
