Riad Kbour & Chou

Riad Kbour & Chou is a mesmerising and peaceful oasis in the midst of the Marrakech medina. All five rooms, as well as the patio garden, are beautifully decorated with Moroccan and Indonesian elements. The delicious and diverse breakfast is served on the terrace, overlooking the medina. They also provide a fabulous (Moroccan) four course dinner, with, honestly, the best tajines we have eaten in Marrakech. But, what really made our stay so worthwhile was the team’s incredibly warm welcome; they are hospitable, kind, cheerful and attentive to your every need. Especially Jacques (owner) and Karim (assistent manager) were absolutely amazing and so friendly to us. We cannot recommend this place enough; we instantly felt at home and at ease when we walked in!

Just amazing. I have been to a lot of places (from 1 to 5* hotels) but I have to stay this is until now probably my favorite. The place is just a jewel, this is so nice and made with so much love and details. The decoration is fantastic. The Riad is placed in a very local neighborhood, in the north west of the medina, very authentic. Expect to be mixed with the locals, that's what we looked for. As soon as you push the door, it is a little paradise and you feel soooo good. The staff (Karim and Rachid) are so nice and helpful. The food was very good. We can only recommend and would go there again.

Kbour & Chou is hands down the friendliest place we have ever stayed. The owners describe the team as 'family' and that comes across from the moment you step through into the courtyard, which is a welcome oasis of chill after you've spent the day in the medina (which can be a bit a full-on!). There is a real sense of pride about the place, from the beautiful and tasteful decor to the incredible service; nothing was too much trouble. Trip Advisor wants the bad as well as the good, but honestly I'm struggling... I guess, unless you're allergic to dogs, cats and tortoises, then sadly, this is not the place for you. For us, the dogs, cats and tortoises were the icing on the cake of a really delightful visit.

This is a truly beautiful Riad and an oasis of calm and peace in the madness and colour of Marrakech. The location is perhaps the only possible negative as it is a 20+ minute walk to the souk, the central square and the many excellent restaurants. Having said that, the walk is an easy one and the Riad is easy to find. Taxi's are cheap and make sure you negotiate the price with the driver before getting in the car Nicolas and the staff are fantastic - friendly, welcoming and helpful, and most remarkably, there 24/7 to help. We had a couple of early starts (balloon ride and trip home) and staff were there with tea and breakfast. The breakfasts are amazing and the best I have ever had in several trips to Morocco, and the bedroom (the Biban suite) was fantastic. Pictures do not do the room and the Riad justice. Comfortable, calming and backed up with gentle classical music, the dog and even some tortoises. You will feel like you are in a family home - which indeed you are - and there is even beer, wine and cocktails available. Lastly - good value for money. Try and book direct with the Riad for a better price, but if you are visiting the city don't miss the opportunity to stay here.

From booking until check out, we had a delightful experience with Riad Kbour & Chou and their entire team. Highly responsive over email and WhatsApp, they answered our questions and assisted with transportation to/from the riad from the train station and provided us with thoughtful recommendations about where to eat and what to visit. Entering the riad is a treat for all the senses. It is exquisite on the inside, full of beautiful plants and treasures for the eyes. Our room was clean, comfortable and felt like a true oasis. I loved listening to the birds singing and the peaceful music throughout. We had breakfast both mornings and it was delicious- the best coffee we had in Morocco! Last, I’d be remiss not to call out Karim and Rachid and the entire staff. They were all so kind, warm, welcoming and treated us like family. Merci beaucoup a tout! We are truly grateful for our experience at Riad Kbour & Chou. I hope to have the opportunity to visit Marrakech again someday, and we will certainly be staying at Riad Kbour & Chou!

Having never been to Marrakesh before were unsure what to expect…we needn’t have worried. K’bour and Chou exceeded our expectations in every way. The very beautiful riad was surpassed only by the incredibly warm service we received from Jaques and his team. It’s hard to pick a highlight…the delicious breakfast served on the rooftop, evening drinks in the garden, an open fire in our room. They were ready with maps, cabs, and invaluable local insight. We cannot recommend this riad highly enough. It’s pretty much perfect.

This Riad is fantastic! When you enter the patio with trees and plants you really are in Morocco. The rooms are spacious with good beds. Breakfast is delicious and is served on the roofterrace. The staff is very friendly. Nothing is too much for them, they provide you with a lot of information about the places to visit. You can also use the bikes they have. We were there for my birthday and it was the most spectacular ever. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Loved our 3 day stay here. A quiet charming Riad decorated in an eclectic style with exquisite details. If I ever come back to Marrekesh, I’ll stay here.
