Before going to Manu National Park, we discussed the different options offered by the tour operators. We decided to go with Crees. The length of our tour was 5 days/6 nights, we spent 2 nights at Manu Learning Center, 3 at the Rainforest Lodge. Both accommodations were very suitable for being close to nature, at the same time maximum (unexpected for us) comfort was provided - very comfortable beds, warm shower, first-class food. I definitely recommend everyon to experience this unforgettable nature adventure. It is impossible to capture in a photo the enormous diversity of nature with ever-present sounds of wildlife that you can experience on the jungle trail or banks of the river. Thanks to the Crees team - our guide whose knowledge we found endless, the masterful boat drivers, the cook and everyone who helped us get to this wonderful place!

We volunteered to work in Manu Learning Centre for one month. And what an amazing experience it was! From the very first night we were welcomed with open arms. We got to experience the jungle in a very authentic way and it didn’t feel like a touristy experience. You are always so excited about what you will see on every trip into the jungle and you never know. All the staff were so friendly and helpful to us. Maria and the other chefs served us delicious food, Maroja and her housekeeping team kept our accommodations in perfect order, Thomas and the maintenance crew helped us with all the issues we had, the researchers learned us so much about the jungle and the manager Brenda maked sure everything worked smoothly all together. They all did an incredible job that made this experience as good as it was!

Me and my husband went to MLC as volunteers for 1 month, and this experience has been one of the best I ever had! When you first enter MLC you are welcomed to a whole new family! Everyone takes care of you: maintenance, housekeeping, chefs and all of the staff. After a month here I truly felt so sad for leaving. The rooms are great and much better than what I ever could imagined before entering the jungle. The chef Maria also makes sure you have great meals each day. The staff really knows everything about the jungle and all the animals, and they are all happy to share this knowledge as they are REALLY passionate about their work and rainforest conservation. I would warmly recommend a visit to the MLC, and make sure you spend as many days as possible here! Thank you so much for everything guys, you will be in my heart forever!

Thatch roof gone, fungus and mold on our window screens so you can barely see jungle from inside room, mold in bathroom and the worst part was the bed sheets smelled of moth balls which are considered carcinogenic in Canada. MLC coordinator didn't seemed concerned whether our needs were being met or not. Ive stayed in other jungle lodges that were 100% better. This place needs a lot of maintenance and a MLC coordinator who cares about guest experience.

If your interested in conservation and helping study the Amazon Rainforest then this is a place to do it! If you want a volunteer experience that gives you hands on then the MLC is a great place to get out and about helping study Flora & Fauna. You need to be willing to do anything because it makes the experience even better.

When choosing the Manu Learning Centre and the CREES foundation you risk that ... - The owner (Quinn Meyer) and the office, spends weeks and months replying to important matters (If ever), only to give unsatisfactory answers. - Sensitive information is not treated confidentially (but shared without consent), and serious concerns are treated as minor details - and brushed off.. - The foundation employs patronizing, aggressive and unstable people - such as a mentor that harass you in cruel and threatening ways, also in front of others.. - The foundation puts a psychopath in charge, where in public: - he puts you in a dangerous situation and leaves you to figure your way out.. - him and his gang of "favourites" leave you out, discriminate, ignore and bully you.. - himself, his "favourites" and his “guests” gets to break “strict” foundation rules.. - he punish and shame you for not obeying his self made non-foundation rules.. - he verbally abuses, manipulates and humiliates staff that wants to resign.. THERE IS MORE.. - You are object to a toxic and patronizing, hypermasculine, sexist environment.. - The personnel manager works for 4 people, so you must face the abuse alone.. - You are devoid of your own project (CREES), though assured in job description.. - You are expected to work crazy amounts of hours a day, and barely have time off.. - You don’t get paid for your hard work - meaning; you are being heavily exploited.. - You won’t get your money back if you leave CREES before the end date.. - You are deprived of any financial compensation for past and present trauma.. - You are left with insufficient action after countless letters, emails and phone calls.. - Instead - you are met with ignorance, indifference and silence.. A serious foundation would not allow any of this to happen. Unfortunately, the foundation is run by a man that was unable to provide a safe and professional environment or make any preventative measures – and he is still unable to make things right. I hope my feedback can protect others from having similar experiences with the CREES foundation. To those of you who still wants to join CREES and/ or visit the Manu Learning Centre, best of luck.. (The only reason why this review has 1 star is because rating is required on TA)

The accommodation was excellent, beds are comfortable and misquito nets are a great help, the only downside is that the showers are always between boiling and freezing, never consistantly warm from my experience, however shampoo and shower gel dispensers are provided which is a massive bonus and the staff are incredibly freindly, however the food is not for everyone, but overall a great experience.

An excellent trip, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The staff are always friendly and happy to help with any queries or problems, as well as anything extra you’d like to see in your stay. The accommodation was clean and well-kept, especially given the middle-of-nowhere location. Take every opportunity you’re offered if you can, I got to learn about and see butterflies, birds, frogs, snakes and plenty of monkeys! Everything is adaptable to your wants and capabilities so it’s an adventure for everyone. And of course, incredible scenery to wake up to every day!
