Somerset Central Salcedo Makati

Two things really, before I start, I’ve now stayed in two Somerset hotels, this one and one in Kuala Lumpur, both are fabulous, the apartment choice that I’ve gone for twice is like a second home, kitchen including washing machine and powder, microwave, dining area, beautiful soft bed, hot pressurised shower, home from home. Pool outstanding and incredibly clean. My issues were at breakfast being told at 09.15am that the egg station was out of action due to the fact the hotel had run out of eggs! To have the audacity to suggest should’ve run to the local store to buy some was met with disbelief. The breakfast was hugely Asian, the KL hotel catered for all tastes. As an Englishman, I like eggs on toast, not too much to ask! Secondly, all the staff will continually greet you and welcome you politely which is lovely BUT this must have content too-the second breakfast I was departing at 5am and so asked for a packaged sandwich, some fruit and juice…this was met with a real attitude as if it was too much trouble, really disappointing. A beautiful hotel absolutely but some common sense and some want to serve the customer wouldn’t hurt.

Best service in Nonya Cafe, The reception, and the housekeeping department! 2nd time booked with my family and will definitely book again in the near future! Very well maintain facilities as well and it’s accessible to any part of Metro Manila

Location is pretty good, service is great. There’re a couple of bars and restaurants nearby, but a bit pricey. Hotel breakfast is normal maybe a 3/5.

Had a great stay that I associate with staying at the Somerset brand. There were a couple of issues that were resolved by the excellent staff.

We were once again delighted with our stay at Somerset! Clean and very spacious rooms with a great daily service. There was even a huge water dispenser in the room. The staff at reception were also very helpful. The selection at the breakfast buffet was also good. We will be back!

i used to be hosted by ascot since 2005, they have multiple accommodations in philippines and manila specifically, i had good to times in all their accommodations, for this time i had a little struggle in this facility which started with a very narrow sharp steep parking located in the basement, i couldn’t drive through, the good management in this facility replaced my parking into the first floor parking, which was much comfortable for me to drive through, i really appreciated their good gesture and understanding, the second issue is the breakfast we had 2 little kids they sleep late and wake up late we couldn’t disturb them, we asked the breakfast personals to serve our breakfast in our apartment but they were not flexible and refused to cooperate with us saying it is not allowed, that was weird to me because i used to have my breakfast in my apartment in all other ascots accommodation in the philippines since 2005, this facility is the only one rejected serving our breakfast in our apartment which is really sad and unfortunately is diverted from what i used of their flexibility and hospitality in the past years, the breakfast time in some other tolerant hostels can be extended to later time considering the guests busy life status besides they do deliver the breakfast to guests apartment too, the house keeping here was a big failure especially their bossing supervisor with a rude attitude.. however the service got better after i complained to the ascot guests manager, may god bless him he was so humble and understanding..

The room is very spacious and complete with amenities. However, the power supply was fluctuating during our whole stay, and it was difficult to reach front desk as the telephone line in our room was also not working. ;( Also, we detected an off-smell in the room as soon as we walked in, as well as the bedding -- they smell like sweat ;( Maybe I'm just used to staying in hotel rooms that smell really good and freshly changed. The lobby was also very hot and not comfortable to stay. Anyway, all of these concerns were communicated to the front desk during check-out. Hope you can improve! :)

Friendliest staff, attentive. Rooms very clean, complete with amenities, even provided refills in case tissues run out through the night. Water dispenser a great plus for the environment. Not only washing machine inside the room, but with provided detergent too. Location also great.

Proximity to business venue and meeting. Nice location and housekeeping is clean and tidy.
